I'm extremely happy withy my OB and when it came down to my son's birth, this past October, my OB very much honored all of my requests per my birth plan. He did say that I needed to remind him at the birth that we were not circ'g, just to make sure he didn't forget (many patients I guess and long busy nights). Regardless he is a wonderful doctor and he was readily admitting that he might forget.
Therefore, even the best docs might make a mistake, so you can never be too careful.
Just make sure you or your husband is with baby at all times.

The best way to ensure that your son won't be circ'ed is to either have him at home or have him at a freestanding birth center where they don't do circs.

If neither of those is in option, I second the recommendations to never let him out of your sight and to have all of those other bases covered.

I am sure this was already mentioned, but it's very simple. He never goes out of sight of your or DH.
