PhD program interview

Thread Starter
I have a phone interview for a PhD program next week!

Wish me luck.

I have a Masters in Education and I'm looking at getting a PhD in curriculum and instruction.

It's a part-time, distance program run through a public university.

Does anyone have any pointers?

One tip: One of the things that PhD programs look for is your commitment to finishing the program. Talk about times you have kept going through difficulty, your time management skills, etc. I.e., if it doesn't come up as a question, something you might want to mention in the, "Is there anything else you would like to tell us?" section would be how committed you are to achieving a phd, how you have defined career goals, how you are aware of the challenge and are prepared for it, how you have dealt with long slogs before ... etc.

Good luck!
