Oh boy

Thread Starter
I ran into a woman the other day, mentioned I was in nursing school, and she said she was a retired nurse. She said she did OB and also did circumcisions. Thinking this was a great chance to educate, I said that less people are doing those these days, and the AAP does not recommend routine ones anymore and insurance doesn't always pay for them. She then said, "I wonder if that's why there are so many gay people these days-- because they were not circumcised!" She was older and from another generation. I just wonder how many people still have these kinds of thoughts-- I get the racial stereotypes a lot from older people, too.

Oh. My. God.

Thank goodness she's not practicing nursing anymore.

Ha, my best friend is gay and circumcised. His boyfriend is not circumcised. I guess we know why Carlos is gay now!

Haha. It really makes me laugh, this society's obsession with "turning" boys gay. My future intact, pink-wearing, long haired, extended breastfeeding boys will inevitably turn out to be the gayest men alive.

I grew up in Ok, and the vast majority of guys I knew were cut, including the gay ones.
I've heard that BF your daughters will make them lesbians , but I suppose someone should tell all those parents in the rest of the world they're at risk of turning their sons gay!

I've three boys - maybe we should introduce them to each other.

Interestingly, I came across a site in German when I did some research on circumcision and phimosis (see my other thread) - so, part of the gay community in Germany (or German speaking countries?) seem to promote circumcision for - huh, not health reasons.

Yes, I came across that information, too. I think it's mostly because being circumcised is "exotic" over here. I think it's really weird, because gay men should be much more aware of the sexual damage of circumcision, because if they've ever been in an intact/circumcised partnership, they had the chance of comparing the reactions of both.

And the whole thing becomes even weirder and more contradictory if you consider that in the US, certain people claim that intactivism is a gay movement, with the aim of disparaging it.

Stardust

PS: Barring any misunderstandings: The site I linked to in proudmomof4's other thread is not promoting circumcision for homosexual men. It doesn't promote circumcision for anything or anyone.

!?! Never heard that one before...would that mean that every female before formula was a lesbian?

WAT

That's insane!!! Being bisexual myself, I thought I'd heard every possible belief about what causes homosexuality, but this one by far is the wierdest.

I've heard people say breastfeeding caused both sexes to be gay if it was done longer then what ever arbitrary length of time they though was too long.

This is is just a ridiculous topic. Funny too in a wow how ignorant way.

Maybe my intact husband is secretly gay. My intact and still breastfed 3 year old will be gay for sure.

Considering the fact that 80% of the worlds population of men are intact, there can in no way be a connection. I have no idea what the percentage of men who are gay is, but I think I can safely say it is no where near 80%.

Wow, so back in the stone age, before formula was invented and before circumcision had even been thought of, ALL the women were lesbians, and ALL the men were gay. How is it again that the human race even continued? I guess women just accidentally got pregnant from toilet seats and swimming pools and such. Oh wait, they didn't have swimming pools or toilet seats either.

I've heard that one too. Considering my mom breastfed most of her kids till they were around age 4 or 5, and, so far, 1 out of 8 turned out glbt, yeah, it's a pretty ridiculous claim.

And the boys (I believe) are all intact. Only one has ever even questioned his sexuality.

Jenp- Puts the bible into an interesting perspective. Pharoh wanted to marry Abraham's wife why? Aparantly for appearances.
