supply difference

Is it normal for each breast to make different amounts of milk? Before you ask, yes, I do switch sides while nursing, and start on the side I last fed on. I did not notice this supply difference until I started pumping. My right side makes a good amount of milk, but the left makes a little less than half of what the right side makes. Its been happening since I started pumping a couple weeks ago. What's up with this?

mine do this too, but opposite breasts.. i think mine is because sometimes at night, we tend to use this one a little more just because it's easy. or, it could be a tendency to "finish early" on the other one, making it make less. from what i can tell the quality of milk seems about the same-- the cream layer is the same thickness in the pumped milk when it separates out. just weirdness, i guess...

i exclusively pump and i get waaaay more from my left than from my right. since i pump both boobs at the same time, for the same amount of time and still get different amounts of milk, i doubt it has anything do with switching sides or starting on whatever side..

so, completely normal

Yup, normal!

My right has always produced more (or at least I can pump more from it). Two singletons and twins - same story. I actually kept my "smaller" twin on the right side in the hopes that he would catch up to big brother.

Yup, happened with both my kids, and to my sister with all 3 of hers.
