When did your toddler learn to climb up the stairs, position him/herself at the top sitting upright, legs out, scoot a bit and slide down the slide all without help? You know, the basic kid "slide routine"?
My DD learned it with much help/modeling around 16-18mos over this past summer. She only started to walk at 14 mos and shortly after that was climbing up over my head on the big kids playset. Nerve racking. But she did well and is very cautious without needing much encouragement.
DS was sliding completely by himself at around 15 mons and even going up pretty tall slides. He may have been doing it earlier but I remember the day my DH brought our new car home he meet me and my friend at the park with the kids and DS was (for the first time) going up the stairs of a big slide and going down by himself as I stood beside the slide. That was early May of last year.
My DD has always been a on the slow end of average in gross motor, so she was probably around 2 before she could do the slide completely independently.
14 months. They might have done it sooner, but we bought an IKEA indoor slide for Christmas for them and that was their first introduction to slides. They LOVE it!
DS just did this a couple weeks ago (so 16ish months) on the big slide at the park. It actually surprised me.. he kinda dove headfirst down the slide though..
13 months? I don't really remember, he started walking at around 11 months.
now that I think about it i think he did it before he walked, he would crawl up the stairs and then slide, although more often feet first on his belly like we taught him to get off the bed, but totally independantly.

We were about the same, 14-15 months. It's a small indoor slide. We'll see how they do on the big outdoor slide this spring.
Both Aiden and Lydia started around 13 months. We didn't go to parks a lot with Aiden. I couldn't drive and dh worked. We've got some nice parks where we are now and go to the parks a lot more.
