Pro biotics for infant?

Thread Starter
My 4 month old ds is on antibiotics for an ear infection and I'm wondering if I can give him probiotics like I do for my older children when they have to take it? He is exclusively breastfed so I'm not sure how I would get it in him. Any ideas or experiences with this? TIA

You're going to love this:

get some of the pro-biotic powder, made for infants, and sprinkle it on your dampened nipples. Voila!

I have used this lots and lots. Otherwise, you could just sprinkle pinches at a time into Baby's mouth before you nurse, and then nurse to wash it down.

Yes infants should be on a probiotic for infants containing chiefly bifidobacteria.

Do you mean they should be on in the case of having ABX or all the time anyway?

Can they get this through the breastmilk?

And is there any way I can get those cultures into my infant without supplements, like lacto fermented veggies (or juice), kefir or yogurt?
