don't worry about the basketball thing. its in the past. and make it up to them....? you are the one who suffered the most there. take a long bubble bath and fortify yourself for a great day of parenting tomorrow. if hey kids get surely do whatever it takes to get out of the house.

I thought maybe some suggestions for free and cheap winter stinks activities might be helpful.....

How cold is it there? can you bundle up and go for a walk?
do you have an arcade? go once a week, spend $1-$5 per trip and save the tickets up allllll winter for the big prize or even a really anticipated trinket shopping spree.
build a fort. build the most awesome fort EVER!!!
goodwill shopping. digging for a fine collection of McDonalds toys can keep my kids busy for hours and then give them something to do for the next week. it costs me like $3.
hide the thimble (this is agreat game for small spaces. take something small, like a thimble, hide and have the kids search for it. I recommend you be the hider.)
do you have public transit at all? use it. where I live it adds two hours onto your outings. my kids loved it and it stretched our fun and broke up our day.
