Co-sleeping heaven

I must have died and gone to heaven... My 2 week old baby has slept every night since birth... I have a hard time waking her to feed her! I cant even believe it... I feel so blessed. After 17 months of co-sleeping H**L with DS, who didnt sleep longer than an hour at a time from the day he was born until he was one, I now know that when people say "sleeping like a baby" they are not intending to be cruel as I previously though ;P

So if there are any sleep deprived, scared pregnant ladies (like I was a couple weeks ago) out there who are wondering what the heck they were thinking, having another one when the first doesn't sleep... there is hope! Your next baby could very well be a SLEEPER

Or... your first one could sleep like a baby and your second one can't sleep for longer than 30 mins at a time... Good thing I have a good gap between mine. I must say I am jealous as another mama with a 2 wk old that hasn't had a stretch of sleep longer than 2 hours since this LO has been born.

sounds good!!! Congrats on the new little one? Is your DS jealous with having another kid in the bed and another one nursing, or is that working out ok?

That is wonderful!

I've come round to the idea that I want another baby even if s/he doesn't sleep well like my current DS. I know there's a chance that the second one might be a good sleeper but I won't believe it until/if it happens!

Is your DS sleeping now? Or does your SO take him at night?

I had the same situation as you. My almost 5 yo STILL wont sleep without some serious bedtime antics on my part. She will literally stay up all night long at grandmas. My second pretty much slept through the night from birth until teething kicked in. I still can't believe my good fortune.

Wow! Sure hope it works out like that for us. Dd very slyly slept beautifully for the six months we were TTC, but as soon as I was pg, she started having trouble again. We're now cosleeping every night for the first time ever. Good thing we have two beds and two parents.

Oh, congrats! I remember seeing your posts about your difficulties with DS. Wasn't it you that recommended the waldorf site about getting your kids to sleep before 7? we do that now, and while they don't sleep any longer stretches, they still sleep until 6 am, so they get more sleep, and are happier. (and we love having our evenings!)
