breastfeeding and getting my period back

Hi mamas,
I'm not entirely sure if this is the right forum for my questions, but here it is.

I am beastfeeding my 14 mo DD. She used to nurse 8-10x per day until about 10-11 mo. Then with solids and all, she suddenly dropped to like 4-5x per day, and that's when my period came back. It was a normal period. Since then she nurses 3-4x per day, (1)when she wakes up, (2)1-2 naps, (3)bedtime. She STTN. But my period is gone again. I'd like to start thinking about baby#2 while continuing to bf DD.

I am wondering if my cycle will come back if I continue to nurse DD as we are, or do I need to drop more feedings to jolt my hormones into gear like last time. I know a lot of people get pregnant and continue to nurse but do some people need to wean completely to get the cycle back?

Are you sure you are not already pregnant?

With my oldest I got one period around 4 or 5 months, definitely a period and not pp bleeding, and then it stopped again for a couple of months. I've gone longer without with each child after that but never had it start and stop again.

I do suppose there are probably women who won't cycle and/or ovulate at all while bf'ing. I am at about 14 months myself right now and no sign of it and getting baby fever.
