buying sprouted rice? Do you then soak or not?

I had a question about buying sprouted brown rice. Since it already had been soaked, then dehydrated before purchase, does one then have to soak it again as per NT guidelines or can I just cook it as is?

Here is an example of what I am talking about:

My co-op now carries this and it would be great for a SAHM like me to be able to have a quick grain to throw on for dinner without having to pre-plan to soak it in advance.

Also, do you see any reason why it would not be great for home grinding to make baby rice cereal for 9.5 mo DD with?

You shouldn't need to soak it, as soaking and sprouting both fulfill the same purpose (getting rid of phytates).

You totally don't need to do anything to it--go ahead and grind it or cook it etc.--the sprouting takes care of all that stuff.

Oh wonderful news. Do you all make your own or buy it? I'm so happy that there is ready sprouted in the co-op for quick dinners, but would love to make my own one day. If you do, let me know how you do it (recipe).

Also, is there any reason you could see to not make it into baby porrage for my 9mo old?

It's ridiculously easy--just takes time. Do you have NT? Sprouting directions are in there. Or check out http://www.sproutpeople.com/seed/rice.html. You basically soak the rice overnight, strain it, leave it out in a jar or another container in which you can rinse it (maybe 2-3x a day), and just leave it out and keep rinsing it until it sprouts (a couple of days.) Then, you can toss the sprouted rice on a cookie sheet in the oven, dehydrate at 150-ish until they are totally dry (will happen quickly IME), and then keep in a jar in the fridge/freezer for future use. It just takes time--but is very easy. (I haven't done it in a while, but have done it in the past and found it to be a simple and exciting process...)

a few co-ops ad WFs are selling the TruRoots sprouted beans and rice here. its literally 4xs the price of regular organic brown rice and i find the rice never gets totally soft, the texture seems weird...
