Pumping and hind milk

How do you know you are getting enough of the fatty hind milk when you pump?

I usually pump about 5 oz every morning. I use the Medela Freezer bags, so that's as much as you're supposed to fit in them.

My pump guide says to continue pumping for a little while after milk stops coming out. When I pump 5 oz, there still seems to be a steady flow of milk. Should I switch to a second bag and label it 1/2 in the freezer so that when my DS uses them, we know which one has the hind milk in it? Or what? I'm so confused.

i pump into bottles, give it a gentle swirl, then pour that milk into two different bags. i figure it has been "mixed" and then can evenly settle in the separate bags.

of course i dont know if its true or not lol but that is what im hoping. if you stop pumping even though milk is still coming out, your body will think that you dont need that milk and eventually stop producing it. so pump until nothing comes out, and then distribute the milk however you want with more than one bag

Sometimes I think the milk will never stop coming! My aunt/lactation lady says to pump 3-5 minutes after the milk stops. I have a second let down at this point. take a few days and keep track of how much you produce from each breast per hour (they will differ), that way you just watch your bottles and you will know when you are done. And, yes, mix when done.
