How different were your pregnancies?

So far this pregnancy I've been feeling pretty tired and bloated, which I think can probably be attributed to the pregnancy. However, I have only had VERY slight nausea and I'm already 10 weeks along. With my last pregnancy I think the MS was sending me to the toilet at least twice a day. The nausea didn't set in right away, but I think it was sooner than now. Is this something that is normal - have you had different pregnancies be on opposite ends of the spectrum for MS? If it makes a difference - I think I've learned a lot about healthier eating since last time - lots more protein, more whole grains, almost NO sugar, etc. Maybe that is what is helping?

Any thoughts are welcome because I'm starting to worry a lot even though I know I should probably just relax.

My first pregnancy, I never really had MS. The only time I felt even queasy was if I waited too long to eat and got too hungry. This time around, for most of the first trimester, I felt gross and queasy. I never actually vomited, thank goodness, but felt gross a good amount of the time. I was eating about every 1-1/2 hours to fend off the queasiness. I got hungry, so I felt queasy. I ate, so I felt queasy. I would have to stop eating in the middle of meals to take an, "Ooh, I feel queasy," break.

I can imagine if I had these feelings with the first pregnancy, and the non-MS feelings this time around, it would probably make me feel nervous, too. But, each pregnancy is different, and I wish you the best!

Four pregnancies and all completely different in terms of morning sickness...among other things! Try not to worry.

I had no MS at all the first pregnancy. I had an aversion to the smell of food from Taco Cabana (of all things, lol) but that's it. I never got sick. This time around I've been SOOOO sick. I was so nauseous it was hard to move from 7 weeks to about 20 weeks. From 8 or 9 to 18 I was throwing up a few times a day. I still throw up maybe once every 12 days and I'm 32 weeks now. My first pregnancy was easy and uneventful. I LOVED being pregnant because I was never sick and felt fabulous. The only hard part was the last two weeks, when I was hot (it was May in south TX) and huge and had sciatica. This pregnancy has been miserable all the way through. It's been from one thing to the next. I've had three colds (had only one the first pregnancy) have had 3 separate bouts of diarrhea (had none the first time) have had back pain for months now (only had it the last two weeks with DD) have been weepy (was not the first time) have had only a little heartburn (had lots last time) and have developed a condition called geographic tongue, along with experiencing an oral yeast infection. Nothing about this pregnancy has been the same at all.

Last time I loved being pregnant. This time I hate it. lol

Yes... my last pregnancy I was nauseous almost the entire time. This time I've felt great almost the entire time. I think I had about two weeks of m/s this time, that's it! In fact, I've had very few symptoms or complaints at all with this pregnancy, but last time I was miserable.

Okay, this is all good to hear. I mean, I feel really bad for you poor moms who are having a harder pregnancy this time than last time - hang in there !! But I know I've heard that different pregnancies are different, I just didn't know they could vary THAT much. I think that the first time I hear that little heart beat I will be much more at ease about everything.

I was never really sick with my first pregnancy(a girl), I was very fatigued and felt like I drank too much wine the night before. Not like hungover just really slow. Once the initial early pregnancy part was over I felt great, I mean like better than ever in my life. I think for me DD's pregnancy was extremely easy, other women commented I was the happiest pregnant woman ever. With her I was a PIG, I gained like 35lbs on my already fair sized figure. Oh my hair on my head grew about 2 inched a month, by the end I had gone from short hair to long, I also rarely had to shave my leg hair.

2nd pregnancy-all I can say is UGH, low grade nausea the entire time, I ate Zantac daily(or ate least 5xs a week), terrible run to the bathroom now M/S from the very DAY I found out. I only gained 16 lbs, gave birth to a strapping 8lb 9oz baby boy, left the hospital weighing what I did the day I got pg. 4 months PP am still losing weight that I gained from my DD, that I never could lose with her. I also had B.O.(never had that before), my leg hair grew faster, hair on my head got greasy and gross at the beginning of pregnancy. I looked like crap that first tri, it did get better, but it was way harder.

For me I am very positive it was the hormonal aspects of the 2 genders that made it so different.

Huh, it is funny that you say that because from the very beginning of this pregnancy I've had a real strong feeling that it is a girl (my first was a boy). I even wrote it in this little journal I am keeping for the baby !

my first was a girl and i was reallllllly sick - nausea early on and throwing up from 8 weeks - then i had a boy, not as sick- didn't throw up until 10 weeks and was never as bad .. this time i am almost 7 weeks and i feel reallly sick again, more like the first time .. so far even sicker than the first time, but it can't be 'more of a girl' lol. so there must be some other reason..

Ditto here... Last time I felt fabulous: zero morning sickness, etc.

This time I was throwing up from 5 to 23 weeks, still nauseaus but keeping things down now at 26 weeks.

And FWIW, they're both girls, my diet and workout routines were the same, etc. Go fig!

Well I have to say I also didn't find out what DS was, we wanted a surprise, but every aspect was so different I was positive he was a boy. I would have been really surprised if he'd been a girl.

All around bump ---- Bump neat and out in front
Craving fish! ---- Craving pork!
Craving sour ---- No other real cravings at all
Gained weight in my body including face ---- gained only weight in my thighs
Sex drive up the wall! ---- No sex drive!
No pains ---- bit of SPD pain
Tired lots ---- full of energy!

With my first I had no MS at all. Never once did I feel sick or queasy or have any food aversions. With my second, I was nauseous at week three and it lasted until 20 weeks. I was sick a few times and the thought of eating chicken made me VERY ill. VERY different. Other than that, I had the same weight gain within a couple pounds, etc. Similar fatigue, bloating, etc.

My first two pregnancies were very different from each other, from conception to delivery and both were boys. Really, EVERY aspect was different. My current pregnancy is a combination of the aspects of the first two with a couple of twists thrown in. My intuition says boy, again.

I had really strong morning sickness (VOMITING) with each of my boys.. this baby I had some mild nausea most of the time.. harsh vomiting only one day (which turned out to not be morning sickness since my kids all came down with it to).. this one is a girl.

All 3 of my pregnancies have been different. My first pregnancy was pretty uncomfortable, I was nauseated for the first 15 weeks, but I really didn't throw up all that often. I suffered from heartburn from day one until the day I delivered. During the third trimester the heartburn made me vomit quite often. I also had terrible SPD from last in the first trimester one. I also had carpal tunnel for the third trimester (and for the 6 weeks following delivery).

My second pregnancy was actually pretty fantastic. I did have MS for about 8 weeks. I threw up a lot, but rarely felt nauseated. I would throw up, then feel great until it was time to throw up again. Kind of weird. I suffered no SPD, no carpal tunnel, and less heartburn.

This pregnancy has also been pretty good so far. I had about 2 weeks of MS (primarily nausea, not much vomiting) and have felt great since then. I've had very little heartburn until recently (I'm 32 weeks now). However, I have noticed a touch of the SPD and carpal tunnel coming on. Nothing terrible, but it is a bit annoying.

With my first pregnancy (boy), I had mild MS all day, but it was usually contained by eating every two hours. If I did that, I was generally okay. The MS with this pregnancy (girl) was not at all effected by how much or when I ate. I just had to deal with faint queaziness all the time - nothing would get rid of it. Luckily it started to go away at around 10 weeks or so.

Other differences: different food cravings; GD (didn't have it the first time); hemorrhoids (bleh - didn't get them the first time!); Dequervain's syndrome then - a bit of carpal tunnel or something similar now; depression this time around; round ligament pains that I didn't notice the first time.

In many respects, the two pregnancies have been similar though.

That's funny because I was sure this baby was girl based on the fact that my #2 pregnancy has been exactly the same as #1-- down to the week my nausea starting and my sciatica started acting up. I was right! Baby girl confirmed at 20w4d...

With DS1 I had an "easy" pregnancy, minimal nausea early on, not too sore and achey till the very end, etc. Although we always joked that he was going to be a kick boxer with the way he was moving around in there! He was even born ON his due date. With DS2, we thought he was a girl till the moment he was born. I was wickedly sick (vomiting multiple times a day until seconds before birth), got sore earlier, had different food cravings etc. He even moved different, and was always stretching and pushing instead of kicking (still liked to stretch alot after he was born). This time we are haveing a girl for sure. I am not as sick as last time (thank god!) but still pretty sick, I've been as sore, tired and achey as I was with the other two at 35 weeks or so and I'm only 25 weeks (I feel like I should be in a competition for the most miserable pregnant ladies in the country). And this one is another little kickboxer. I guess this one will probably be as much of a regged individualist as her two older brothers! I hope the next one won't be as miserable, since it seems to be getting harder each time. Oh well, their worth it.

My pregnancies are very different. With my first I didn't have m/s really, had really sore breasts, extremely tired ( I think I slept the whole first trimester), gained a lot of weight, really swollen. With this pregnancy I had m/s until 19 weeks, not tired, my breasts feel the same, gaining a good amount of weight, rarely swollen. And I am having my second boy.
