Pump In Style Advanced problem

I don't pump very often, but I have this PIS-A from when my first son was a baby, and I'm remembering why I ended up renting a pump when I really needed one: when trying to double-pump, when I plug the yellow plug into the double pumping port, it works its way out after only a few pump cycles. So I end up trying to hold the plug in so that it will maintain proper suction and rhythm while simultaneously holding the two bottles to my boobs. Ugh!

Like I said, I don't pump very often, but as DS2 gets older [he's 8 months old now] and eating more solids and being very distracted during the day, I worry that he's not getting enough breastmilk. I thought if I pumped more, I could put it in his straw sippy cup that he likes to drink out of.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution to get the plug to stay in the port?

With the PIS-A does it matter where the plug is when you double pump? If I remember correctly, it only matters for one sided pumping, because you need the plug to block the second hole or there won't be any suction, but if you have pumps hooked up to both holes, then the little yellow plug is just extra. Since there's no suction holding it in place, the vibration of the pump makes it move around, but who cares?

I also have a PIS-A, I never got my girl on the boob so I over use my pump and for mine it is only needed when I single pump, which I never do. I just had a problem with suction (lack of) and I phoned Medela at 800-435-8316 and they/we figured out I had a bad cord and even though it was way over my 90 day warranty they sent me a new free one. Call them, they can help.

Hmm, that's interesting that you both say I don't need to have it plugged to double-pump. It just seems like there's a definite difference in the way the pump sounds and feels when the plug is plugged in properly. I guess I need to play with it more, and maybe call them....
