We were watching Animal Planet earlier today, and there was a show on called "Cats 101." It featured 3-4 different cat breeds.... their temperaments, their health issues, their grooming needs. Basically, an hour of cats frolicking on the TV screen. It was cute!

I noticed that it was rated "TV-PG" which I thought was odd because, really, what parental guidance would be necessary in watching cats playing?? Literally that was pretty much the entire show.

Then the show ended and the next show that came on was "Animal Cops: Phoenix." And the first vignette featured a poor little dog that had been duct-taped and placed in several plastic bags and thrown away in the desert to die. And they showed the law enforcement officers rescuing the pup and collecting the evidence of the torture and describing what this little dog had been through.

And, you guessed it, this show that described the torture of a small animal was also rated "TV-PG."

I mean, WTF??!?!?!?!?

I have never paid much attention to those dang ratings before, and I certainly won't now!!!
