HELP! 7 week old exclusivley BF'd is not pooing

Is this a cause for concern? She has not poo'd since Thursday, not even a wet fart. She is peeing alot and does not seem uncomfortable at all.
I'm really starting to worry.
Please provide any info you can!
Thanks so much.

Up to 10 days can be normal. Just prepare yourself for a blowout!

yes, as long as the baby is not unhappy, everything is fine, just wait for it

it may help to keep in mind that the reason this happens is that your baby's digestive system is so efficient, and your milk is so perfect, the baby can digest ALL your milk with nothing left over! go mama!

I had that same concern with my newborn when she went several days without pooping - my ped said not to be concerned until a week has passed and that BF babies use nutrients very efficiently at times so it is normal ... as previous poster said, be prepared for a blowout - that is what happened to me too!

After 6 weeks of age (and sometimes as early as 4 weeks) 10-14 days between poops is not uncommon for breastfed babies - and is normal! Just keep lots of wipes and a change of clothes with you at all times, as a PP mentioned! When the poop arrives you'll wonder how there could be so much and how it could still be so runny!

Ah yes, the major blowout may be coming! It's hard not to worry... But I did hear that walking is good for adults who are constipated and since babies can't walk doing the bicycle motion with their legs might help get things moving. Plus it's fun for both of you when you add silly songs!

Anyone heard about cluster-pooping? My DS did not poop for two days... today he had 4 major blowouts though!
