Can you get a mammogram while breastfeeding?

I'm 39 and had one when I was almost 35, but I would really like to have another one done as so many people I know have been diagnosed with breast cancer over the past 5 years. But I'm breastfeeding (and actually pregnant again) and was thinking that I don't even know if I could get a mammogram while breastfeeding... can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!

from what I have heard, some drs will say it's not possible, but it is possible IF you get a mammo technician who is experienced with lactating breasts. But I also think that if you are still under 40 and it has been less than 5 years since your last mammo and you have no significant risk factors, then most drs would probably say not to worry about it -- wait until you're done nursing. I could be wrong.
