Charting to Avoid/Fertility Awareness, FEB 2010 - Page 2

I'd like to join! I'm due to start my fourth AF since DD2. DD2 is a year old now and no longer breastfeeding. Each cycle has been 29 days and I definitely get skin changes before AF. I also find that I am "in the mood" around ovulation. DH WDs.

A couple weird things are happening this cycle though. I got a clogged duct (more like infected, I think it was pus, not milk coming out) and I haven't been nursing for two months now. Also, I just had a whole bunch of creamy mucus and AF is due to start in 2 days. I've never had that before, but I'm breaking out so I'm sure that my body won't let me down I'm not temping yet, but my cycles appear to be very regular.

Pretty chart Kim!

Just finishing AF here, Lower temps than normal -- probably b/c it was -20 outside saturday (well, windchill -20, but it counts) and our woodstove is NOT keeping up

Nothing exciting going on here, just hanging out to see if this cycle will be 20-some days, like two ago, or 53days, like the last one. Sigh. I love being unpredictible. My CM seems to be recovering from the IUD (Mirena) nicely, though, so I'm enjoying that.

Had a strange conversation with my husband the other night; things were heating up, and I'd had some vaguely creamy CM that day, so I'd said that I was interested, but he would need to withdraw (which is fine, and the plan) and he commented later that he'd been surprised I hadn't thrown an "unless......." in there. Funny, because our daughter (2yo) was completely unplanned, and it's very important to him that our second child have some modicum of planning behind it. We had a long and interesting and good conversation because of it; I'm glad it happened.
How long has it been since you had your IUD removed? I've been a couple cycles now w/o my paragard and have just what you described the 50-something and the 20-something.

How nice to have that convo! I really hope that my husband will come around. Neither of our two were planned and I'm SO excited to actually plan #3. The spacing feels/seems right for me now (I think a Feb baby next year would be great) but DH wants to wait until we move which is... who knows when... approx 3 years, I don't want to be in my mid-late 30's when the next one comes or I think I'll just give up.

Anyhow, I have to go and see if I can turn 'quiet time' into nap time.

How long after pregnancy does it take for your period to stay steady? I had several months of 29 days, then one month of 28 days, and now it's at 27 days. I suppose I'm happy that my LP is now over 9 days (10 now), but I'm kind of wondering when things will steady out. My son is 6 months and I've had my period for about 5 months.

Just last month, actually! I charted for the month before to get the hang of the system, and then had the IUD yanked on 1/20. I'm really quite thrilled, not just because I would really (really really really) like to be pregnant again, but because I was having some pretty sketchy issues with the IUD (I had the Mirena). So, much better this way. Also, nice to not have cervix pain in (ahem) certain positions.

I also decided to complete my transformation to hippie-dom and get a Divacup; absolutely changed my life. So, it's been a good month so far.

so funny. I love mine. I started with the keeper in '05 and when that got lost I moved on to the Diva, I like it but wish I knew how to eliminate discoloration.
It's nice having only ONE thing for month after month after month! Once in a blue moon I'll use a cloth pad for back up but those are all left over from post partum

Hopping in here today!

Gorgeous chart Annie!

BlueOne-- That seems pretty steady to me! Were your cycles always exact before? I've had even cycles right from my very first one, but they still fluctuate between 26-28 days. I just kind of assume that was normal and wouldn't think twice about it unless it was say a week or more that it was changing each month.

I am back again this month! I also have a diva and I LOVE IT, when I first heard about them I was very scared to try them but now I love it. I have been temping and charting for 2 months now, but ff cant detect when I o'ed this month I would really like to know because I have NO clue and I am still trying to convince my husband that when done properly this is a good form of birth control. We now use a condom all month long no matter what . I also don't know how to link my chart for you guys to see so you can help me, can anyone let me know how to do that? Thanks!

(But not my longest - had an 8 month annov. I ended with Provera.)

And if you do any edits Lyterae, we CTA for 12 months before getting pregnant.
Yay for remembering to temp! I think the hardest part of me is that B. usually wakes me up and so I roll out of bed to go see her without stopping to temp first. I think 12 months is fantastic, we made it.. 5 cycles before we got pregnant. Complete and total user error, it took almost 4 years for DH to agree to try FAM again. I think it's really only because he's okay with an "oops", he's just not okay with trying.

Crossing my fingers for O this month for you!

Here's hoping. This last month has been a hormone nightmare.
I hope that things go better for you this month.

That's awesome! I didn't even know there was such a feature.

Welcome! I'll add you to the list.

Nothing much going on here, just trying to do personals and update while I have time. It's only Monday and I'm already dreaming of Saturday.

In FF on your "main" page there is a "home page setup" button above your chart. If you click on that page it will take you to another page that has your FF link.

Alternately, when you have your chart open on the left hand side there is a tab for "homepage" if you click on that it will bring up your homepage as well.

I hope that's clear enough, sorry if it's not.

My hormones really do a number on me, too. I'm on cd4 now. Last week I was such a monster, alternating between crying for no reason and raging over the littlest things, feeling like my life was completely miserable. shows and *sigh* relief! Even though I know it happens to me I'm always dumbfounded in the midst of it and amazed when I get and come out of it at how much my hormones affect my mood. I need a natural, hormone-related mood stabilizer. Of course, the docs say I have PMDD and, "Oh here, take some of these wonderful bcps. They'll fix you right up."

That last time I went to see the OB (it's been awhile) we were talking about the method of birth control I was using and I explained that I'd love a type of birth control but I can't be on hormonal birth control because of depression. Instead of listening to me they gave me a script for a birth control pill and antidepressants. I threw both of them away.

Seriously?!!

BCPs destroy my libido. The low dose ones (nuvaring specifically) are 10x worse because they kill my libido and make me crazy. I love charting and knowing what my body is doing, but it is absolutely imperative that I not get pregnant for another 6 months, and I would really love something for that time with less ability for user error. Especially since my cycles are crazy erratic, and now we know we're super fertile. Abstaining until after O is the only surefire way to avoid, and when you have 35 day to 8 month cycles, that doesn't leave a lot of time for fun!

THANK YOU!! I would have never thought to click that button

My chart

Can you guys give me any insight? I did forget to temp a few times, will it make that big of a difference? Thank you for any feedback.

You can always do what my hubby does when he is really worried about getting me pregnant. Use a condom AND pull out! It works, though!

To me it looks like O was on day 20 or 21. I am not familiar with FF, but I'm guessing you don't have crosshairs because you don't seem to have a typical pattern of CM.

I would give you a possible O date of CD20. I think maybe FF is having a hard time because the cervical fluid pattern is a bit confusing. Were you forgetting to record days or is that your pattern for this month? Were there any eggwhite or watery days?
Pogo: It's possible you O'd around CD 20, but w/all the missing temps you can't confirm. Also, you haven't had any fertile CM, & it's also possible you haven't O'd yet.

AFM: I also love my Diva Cup! Yay! And I'm still waiting for something other than sticky CM before I start temping this cycle. CD 15 & still nothing. My chart.

Sorry to double post, but withdrawl is what we used for years and years with no problems. I am thinking though, that since the stakes are so high (HBAC) that we may do condoms and withdrawl until after O. The hard part is I don't know if I will get regular cycles back now or go another 6 months without. BAH. DH is going to mutiny.
I just didn't have much cm this month at all. Even before I started charting I think I remeber having good fertile signs but this month was just different somehow. I tried to start a new workout routine that failed so bad I gained I pounds, that really through my whole month off. I am expecting within the next 2 days though so hopefully I won't forget to temp again and everything will get back on track. Thank you guys, without you and your insight (I read a lot here just never have any wisdom to post) I would be so lost.
