ack! solids poop staining my dipes!! what do i do???

dd just started solids a couple weeks ago... and though she's not ingesting much (we're doing blw) her poops are a whole different beast than the ebf ones.

we use bumgenius o/s pocket dipes, and my current routine is to shake the poop into the toilet (or wipe it off with tp, rinse the dipe in cold water, spray them w/ diluted bac out before they go in the dry bag. since we only have enough dipes to get us through 2 days at most, they are getting washed every other day. but this solids poop is leaving stains!

what can i do? anything?

sounds like you are already doing a lot. You could try drying them in the sun. I put my pocket outers on a drying rack in a sunny window & they dry pretty quick. & I've found it lightens the stains.

My experience is that the sun does wonders, too!

You're doing more than I ever have already, although I will admit to occassionally using bleach in my laundry.

Eh, they're diapers - they're going to get stained. Some foods are definitely worse than others though.

We rarely get stains. We do dunk the diapers in the toilet to get all the poop off. And I use vinegar in the rinse cycle, maybe that might do something? The smaller sized diapers I have do have some stains (breastmilk only), but since I added vinegar to the wash, hardly ever to we get a stain.

Life is too short to worry about stains on diapers

During warmer weather I line-dry in the sun. Most of the stains come out. If they don't...oh well! As long as the dipes are clean I'm ok with the stains

I don't get too many stains when I do a cold rinse before washing. The sun isn't a reliable option for me all the time but it sure does work!
