Low-supply mama makes it to a year!

Hallelujah!

Esmé turns one year old today! And we're still nursing like crazy!
To all you low supply mamas out there, hang in there! Stay away from bottles, pacifiers, and learn to love your Lact-Aid! It can be done!

After pumping, herbs, drugs, donor milk and supplementing, here we are a year later doing none of those things and still nursing. If you had told me that when I was in the thick of it, I would've kicked you out of my house.

Special thanks to Megan73 for all your support ... you ROCK, mama!

Congrats!! I made it too!! I never thought I would make it this far...or end up with a baby that won't take a bottle or cup, only a boob. I think I'm going to buy a couple new nursing cami's as a gift to myself for making it so far! I can't imagine having made it so far without breastfeeding my litte angel.

Congratulations to you too, Cindy! Can you believe that we made it this far? I'm so proud of us. What a long road it was to get here. We deserve boobie medals!

We'll be here to cheer you on when you need a boost, mama! You can do it!

Congratulations to you, Starling, from another mama who really struggled with low supply in the beginning. We are now almost finished our nursing journey at 4 1/2 years. It can be done!

Oh, and I second the medal. Perhaps that should be my next tattoo design - "4 1/2" in script all around my nipple? Ouch!

You can do it, Kellie!
Congratulations, Cindy.

Getting through the first few months of breastfeeding was one of the hardest things I've done in my life but I wonder if it's made me appreciate all the more how precious and fleeting this time is with my little one.

Actually, a tattoo is a great idea! Not on my nipple, mind you ... but in honour of our struggle. I'll have to put my thinking cap on and come up with something.

Congratulations!! That's a huge accomplishment! I'm an IGT momma also and I gave up breastfeeding my son at 4 weeks because I couldn't handle the stress of supplementing. I've matured, learned a ton more about breastfeeding, and this second time around with DD I decided I was going to nurse her no matter what my supply was like. We meet our one year mark April 1!!

Yay! That gives me hope, as another IGT mama we made it just barely 3 months with nursing/pumping, and supplementing before the PPD rooted itself firmly in and I couldn't handle the stress anymore. I'm hoping to meet the one year mark when we have baby #2.

I have every confidence that you can do it. We're all here for you when you're feeling wobbly about it. You can count on us!

I am a low-supply mom too and BFing at 8 mo..... 1 year seems rather far away but I am determined.

Congrats on the 1 year mark!

We are doing well at 8 months, I feel happy to have come this far. Baby quit taking supplemental formula when she started solids so now we are just... breastfeeding. It is amazingly easy and wonderful.
