Room with a View was written by E.M. Forester I think that his books are a bit drier than Wharton's, but enjoyable nonetheless.

well, I read the older translation and still loved it. The writing was just beautiful, and it's a great spanning the lifetime kind of story. I guess whichever one is easier to find would be my best guess.

I always like to re-read my favorite Stephen King books post-pregnancy. *decides not to think about this too much*

Jane Austen is a great writer I also like Danielle Steel.

Some of the books written by Danielle Steel are Summer's End, Jewel, Mixed Blessings, Five Days in Paris, The Klone and I
.
I hope this information will be of some help.

Elizabeth Gaskell - most specifically Wives and Daughters. Some of her other stuff is too "social commentary-ish" and heavy.

The Pickwick Papers by Dickens. Very funny. I love Bleak House and David Copperfield, but they can be too depressing.

I agree with the suggestion of EM Forster's A Room with a View.

Little Women?
