Nursing Mamas TTC February - Page 14

Feeling blue

I don't post often because I'm still waiting for my first AF after my pregnancy. I'm more of a lurker. My son is 19 months now and I am losing hope that I will be able to continue breastfeeding and get pregnant. My clock is ticking with a birthday looming. I will be 38 and I just worry that the longer I wait the harder it's going to be. I really don't want to wean my son, but I want him to have a sibling and the clock is ticking. I keep hoping my body will get back into gear, but so far no luck. Thanks for letting me vent.

Good luck to all those in the TWW and congratulations to those who got a BFP!

jen&james~ did you test again yet?

Thanks for the thoughts on the OPK, ladies.

I took another one yesterday afternoon, and again today...the one yesterday afternoon was slightly lighter, and the one from today was back to being dark like yesterday.

I'm acting as if it is positive, so cross your fingers! I haven't had PPAF yet, which is why it is so hard for me to be sure... I started temping, but my son still nurses at night, so they are not really consistent. We are trying to night wean (using Jay Gordon's method), but the poor little guy has been sick this week, so I put that on hold...

Congrats to all those with BFPs

solejean: Have you thought about using Vitex? I used it to lengthen a short LP but I know some women here have used it to bring back AF. Maybe you should give it a try. Good luck to you!

I tested again this morning with FMU and I used a IC and FRER. I am still getting a shadow line on the IC and nothing on the FRER. It may not have been enough time though since I got the shadow line yesterday afternoon it may not have had enough time to double the HCG so I am holding out hope and will test again tomorrow morning. I am only 10dpo so mabe it's just too early.

jen & james, how frustrating!

im 3DPO and feeling like i usually do after O.. like i could be pregnant..
i have a feeling these next days will go by fast though.

my 4 year old just had major dental surgery today and it was pretty stressful for me.. im feeling exhausted and emotional. poor duckie. i feel so bad. she is resting now but we are far from home and im just looking forward to getting back to our quiet small town and out of this huge big city where we had to come.

tomorrow we have a 6 hour drive home

Wow! Soooo many BFPs already this month! That's awesome!

Not too much to report here. DD turned 9 months old today, and over the past few weeks had really taken an interest in solid foods - demanding them, even! So I was very excited and hopeful that with the spotting I had a few weeks ago combined with less frequent feedings meant AF should be knocking on my door pretty soon... Well, yesterday I got slammed with an awful bout of mastitis, obviously from not nursing as often. It is still kicking my butt, I feel AWFUL! Now nursing like maniacs trying to keep my breast drained...

MamaFern--I'm sorry about the surgery--how hard. I'm sure it will feel great to be home and have that behind you! GL with the TWW.

Jen&James, I hope you get a solid positive tomorrow!

Solejean, I totally sympathize. I waiting until my son was 26 months to get my PPAF, and I'm still waiting for my LP to lengthen.... and struggling with whether or not I need to wean to get pregnant. I think it was acupuncture that finally brought back my PPAF--something you might be able to try?

Oh, no! Mastitis is miserable. I hope it clears quickly.

Hi Yuba!! I do remember you from our Aug 07 ddc! I sooo hope we get preggo together so we can be in a club together again! hehe. How is your LO? My ds is so wild and crazy and often driving me crazy these days LOL but also so much fun! He is still attached to his "nuh nuhs" but I have been setting more limits. (mostly we just nurse when we wake up and before and after nap and then before bed).

I'm on CD 9 today do de do ded ooo... No wetness yet at all I hope it shows up soon (ewcm i mean). DH and i have been BD'ing anyway for fun though lol. When do you ladies generally get ewcm? Before having ds I got it really soon after my period (like two days after it ended). This is my first "real" cycle after being on birth control (nuvaring) so who knows....I REALLY want/need to get preggo this month though because if we don't we might have to wait until next year to try again (i know...it's dramatic lol but it has to do with a vacation that's already planned for next January...so we need to have our November baby or else we'll have to wait) eeek.

Okay this post was all over but I would love to hear when you all usually start getting EWCM in your cycle?

I wiped and had pink tinged mucus a few weeks ago, and like two tiny spots in a panty liner. Still no period, though. My daughter is 9 months old today.

I get my referral to the ob/gyn this morning! Hopefully I'll get the appointment quickly & we can get things on the road.

I went away this past weekend without ds & he is stretching out his nursing sessions a bit more so I'm really hoping I'll get my first ppaf very soon. I really don't want to have to wean him completely to get it but I also don't think I can wait too much longer for af to return - it took soooo long to conceive ds.

Holly - I usually get EWCm the day or two before, and it's copious, anything else is just "normal" to me. Also, since I'm nursing, my nipples are a SURE sign of impending O. They get horribly sore when he latches and nurses. My first cycle I thought I had thrush it was so awful, but I took an OPK and lo and behold +.

CrunchyKatie - Sorry about the mastitis. I had that in the fall, I thought I was going to literally die - I was faint and fevered and my midwife prescribed some antibiotic. It came on so suddenly, I think I had slept weird on my breast or something random. Ouch.

AFM - I'm on cd 14, no sign of O yet and I'm still spotting. I'm trying to keep busy with home improvement stuff since my work is slow this week (I work from home editing and proofreading). The boys are sick and are driving me and each other crazy with their crankiness and runny noses. *yawn*

I just got EWCM for the first time last month, I think because I was drinking so much water that month. It came about 3 days before O.

AFM - I am having AF cramps, like I always do about 4 days before AF comes. ugh... looks like I may be out again this month. I have read that early pregnancy cramps feel a lot like AF cramps - but do they feel exactly the same... I hope there is still hope for me.

yes they do for me feel exactly the same.
when I got pregnant with #2, I was cramping at around 8-9DPO and assumed it was AF (I had a super short LP at the time). But for kicks I tested because I had to sneak one in there before AF came and it was positive. I nearly fainted. Same thing happened with my recent pregnancy, I started cramping on sunday and assumed it was AF and a few days passed and it never started, tested and a BFP. I don't cramp normally with AF since I've switched from tampons to cloth pads for some reason, so I should know something is up when I do. Good luck!

Okay are you ready for how obsessed I have become hahahahahah:

I had a dream last night that I was making an embroidery chart!! LOL I was like stitching away and making little eggs and "O's" for ovulation!!! LOL

It's so funny because I'm a teacher and at school we have been doing a ton of emboridery with the kids recently and TTC is always on my mind so the two projects showed up together in my dream!!! LOL

Thanks Finnegan, that makes me a little more hopeful...

Holly - I get EWCM on a daily basis these days. No ovulation, though. Question for everyone else--do you tend to get EWCM all the time while BFing, or is it just my annoying body taking its time winding up to ovulate?

rcr - when I was pregnant with DD (I got an early BFP at 10 dpo), I kept running to bathroom expecting to miscarry/see AF because the cramps felt *just like* AF cramps. Don't give up yet!

AAM - I'm reading daily, just not posting a lot. I don't have a lot to add because nothing new is happening, and it makes me a little jealous to see everyone else moving along and ovulating. Those of you who are sad and frustrated, I know how you feel. It still makes me hopeful, though, to see those success stories, especially since DH has decided that I'm one of those rare few who can't conceive while BFing. :roll I'm frustrated and confused lately, though, because my fertility signs keep getting more and more fertile (my cervix has been high and soft for weeks straight, but the last few days have been fully open, too; more and more EWCF, etc). I don't know whether to think this is promising or just ignore it until I see a +OPK because I am tired of getting false hope.

OK, that was a bit of a downer post. I really am happy to see all of the successes here, and I am doing my best to enjoy my time with just DD when I can smother her with love and affection to her heart's content.
