I've found that hydration is key to maintaining production for pumping. A big glass of water about 20-30 minutes before seems to help alot.

When I needed to get more out, I would add a pumping session.
Bwahaha.... you have no idea , do you? (said very affectionately).

If only it were as easy as drinking glasses of water for some of us......

I pump at work, and very consistently get 1 oz/hour (so if it has been 3 hours since I last pumped, I will pump 3 oz). I stop making milk after 4 or so hours though - eg if I don't pump for 6 hours I will still get 4-4.5 oz, which seems to be my max.

When I was pumping to increase supply while home on maternity leave I used to get almost nothing - like an oz or less at a time.

(Babe needed about 5-7 oz of formula per day until 6 months, then after starting solids she began rejecting formula so now she just gets whatever I can give her and makes up the rest in solids.)

I hear that. Sigh.

I would joyfully donate to a mom in need (especially in my area) and have in the past.

You are a good mama I hope I didn't offend you..... I truly do not begrudge you your good fortune....only hope that some of that may rub off on me too

Not offended at all. I would love it for other mamas to have the kind of output I do

I only pump at work and it works out to every 4 hours. The first pumping session of the day I get 8-9 oz total (3-4oz from the side she last nursed from and 5oz from the other side). The second pumping session of the day I get 6-8oz (3-4oz from each side).

I only pump at work also and I get 6-7 oz in the morning and 5-6 in the afternoon. I might get more in the morning session if I brought larger, or more containers. I use PISA, but just one breast at a time, it only takes about 10 minutes all together, so I don't feel the need to do both at once. I read a magazine during also.

we have good lactation rooms at work, and that probably helps.

Yeah, I must be weird or have serious issues with a pump... We are having to do before and after weighs with DD right now, so I know when she nurses she gets between 3 and 4 ounces but if I pump, I'm lucky to get 1.5 oz.... both sides combined double electric pump (PISA)...

I am the same way. I know DD can get 3-4 oz per session but I can never pump more than 1-2 oz at a time (all these from one breast...my right breast has pretty much dried up from non-use by now)
