Short version: if your baby really disliked pouches, did he or she find ring slings to be acceptable?
Longer version: My son (three months old, 6 weeks adjusted age) doesn't really like pouch slings. I've come to think that it has to do with a combination of the compression he feels from the fabric, and not being upright: he likes his stretchy wrap and loves his mei tai. But he complains about his pouches unless he's sitting up/facing out.
I'm going to be flying with him soon, and I'm wondering if I should add a ring sling to his carrier collection for the occasion. I like the idea of the adjustability and it being easy to pop him in and out of.
But given how much he dislikes pouches... what do you think? Is he realistically more likely to enjoy a ring sling? I'm trying to be a more conscious consumer and stop acquiring so much stuff, so I don't want to buy more and more baby stuff unless I have a pretty good idea that it'll get a lot of use.
Thanks for your insight!
