"Hood" Piercings

I am considering having this piercing done. I have done a bit of research after my husband mentioned he thought it "would be cool". I must say I just may, but I am looking for the good, the bad and the ugly.

Oh heck no! For me it would be more of a safety issue as my DH's hands um how should I say clasps it while he sleeps? I would think a ring or such would get ripped out or whatever. OUCH!

I had one, I liked the way it hit my "parts" but I had issues with it migrating.

I have very senstive skin....I didn't have issues with infections but I ended up taking it out because I could tell it was migrating. http://tattoo.about.com/cs/piercefaq/a/migration.htm

I have my tounge peirced with no problems.

I looked into it.....but I couldn't do it. I was very afraid they would hit a nerve and it would ruin "it."

and this would be my fear! and god knows i would be crushed, 100% crushed if it was ruined!

Everyone I know personally who has gotten one has liked them. I know it's just anecdata, but I've never personally heard anyone comment on a loss of sensitivity ... usually the opposite.

I had one. I liked it. Not really sure why I took it out. I have thought of getting another one. It hurt like hell to get it done. It did rub things somewhat. Don't know that it made anything better. But I liked it all the same.

I had one in college for a few years. The most important thing is to go to someone that has lots of experience and is very reputable in cleanliness and all that. Beyond that, yep, it hurt pretty darn badly to get done, but for me, the intense pain only lasted a few seconds and then it was just kid of sore. You have to clean and twist it as it's healing so that it doesn't heal to the bar (just like with any piercing) and that kind of freaked me out at first because I was so scared of it hurting! I think it healed up really quickly, like maybe a week? I didn't have that extra sensitivity/arousal from it rubbing on the clitoris, but it was a fun novelty thing for me at that time. I had it in for about 2 years and then the novelty wore off for me and I took it out. It's one of those things that I wish the hole would stay open so I could just put it in now and then for kicks, but alas, it healed back up very quickly. Definately make sure it's something *you* really want to do because it's a pretty invasive thing to do if you're not sure.

I kind of want one. Nothing else on my body is pierced, not even my ears. Would that be weird? Nice girl at first glance and naughty girl underneath.

I don't think is a risk with hood piercings since it does not go through the clitoris. A clitoral or a triangle piercing would be more of a risk so just make sure the person doing it knows what they're doing and assesses whether or not you are a good candidate.

You are right, I was thinking of the one that goes UNDER the clitoris, all the way through.

I could never do it, but my BFF had her's pierced and she loved it.

oh, this reminds me (can I share this here? ) that I once went with a guy to get a prince charles done and OMG, he laid in the middle of the road in pain afterwards. I know it doesn't compare, because what you are considering just goes through skin, but man, that is a vivid memory.

Please keep it clean! Not the piercing, though you should keep that clean as well.
