Care package for chemo patient

I have a older friend who is going through chemo for some months, after a double massectomy(sp ?).

I live far away and want to send something. I always think of baked goods, but she may not be up to eating those. Pictures, letter. She is a very private person and does not want many to know. Any ideas.

That's very sweet of you to think of her.

Some light reading might be good, for the hours sitting in the chemo chair. When my dad was going through chemo, I made him a photo album of pictures of my son. I also got him some books of professional photography of a few places he had lived.

You could get her a gift certificate for a maid service, which I'm sure would be very much appreciated!

My neighbor recently underwent several months of chemo. A bunch of us in the neighborhood made a big basket that included DVDs of our favorite movies (we tried to stick with comedies/romantic comedies) and movie snacks. We thought it would come in handy on those days following chemo when she wasn't feeling well and just wanted to lay in bed. She loved it!
