Did you get him to taste it?

I made lasagna on sunday and it turned out really well. I've never attempted it cuz I thought I'd miss the cheesiness of it, (my family was getting together) but it was yummy. DH said he like it better than the original cheesy goodness. I even gave in and had a slice of the cheesy stuff and I didn't like it...it tasted overly done (not oever cooked) or the wheat pasta was too soft and it was too gooey? I made a seperate pasta bake for dd2 (no tomatoes) and it turned out pretty good too. If anyone wants it, I'll throw it out there.
Okay, I put it in the recipes thread...I always feel guilty because i never contribute, so there you have it!

So, I started chatting a while back with someone in my HSing group, her daughter has digestive issues. She's been frustrated, her DD also has cavities, and I talk some about food intolerances and probiotic supps and such. Not really unusual yet. Well, we chat on FB some, she's not seeing great results so far with her ND, though I don't really think they've focused on the most important stuff. And oh, by the way, a hair test last year showed they had lead and mercury issues. Um, hello, that's important. And I don't think her HCP (she ordered it through a HCP) pointed out that her DD's digestive issues, and some sound sensitivities and food pickiness issues, could all be manifestations of that one, underlying issue. I feel like I attract people with heavy metals issues--she's not the only one from my HSing group, and I really don't tell people I think metals are _their_ issue, cause hey, seems a bit pushy, and I wouldn't have chosen it as most likely for her anyway. I share a bit of what's going on with us, but both these people had ideas on their own before I came around.

It's a weird, weird world.

So as I lay awake last night attempting to fall asleep, I remembered making sugar cookies around Halloween. I think I made them into pumpkin shapes for preschool. And I ended up making some for DS too, with beet sugar, but there's no recipe anywhere (just like my key lime pie squares that were so good). See how disorganized I am?

Well, after another drama filled 3-hour bedtime, I got DD to sleep from 11:30 to 6:30 this morning. That's enough for a 2yo, right?

Dh said, in the middle of the night, that he'd try to get dd OUT ofthe house so I can sleep after breakfast. I worry about how much he's not at work, but once we took him in at 10:30 or so, and there was like one other engineer in the building. At least I got to sleep from 9-10ish and 5:30-7:30, right?

Cs, what are you supping right now? Or are you convinced it's a reaction? Hey, isn't your appt today!?

Holy cow- you got less sleep than me!

We're not supping anything, sadly. I'm still trying to work up the nerve to try this calcium supp that I bought.

Yep- appointment is today!

There was some dozing in there, and dd slept for most of that, but she was just on and off, non stop nursing/twiddling, and when she was off, had a leg thrown over me. As soon as I woke enough to realize I was in serious pain/can't breathe land and tried to roll over, she would nurse again. Repeat, and add the 'is she about to wake up?' insomnia...

Are you still doing b6 for you?
No, after the day of serious crabiness, I decided I can't risk taking it again. But I'm going to buy the Thorne b-complex at my appointment today and will start that tomorrow. (Fingers crossed that they have the complex highest in b6, but I'm not holding my breath. They have a pretty limited selection of Thorne- the only multi they have is the one WITH copper and without iron/iodine. Exactly the opposite of what I want.)

I'm also going to get DD the gastromycin, and see if they have any probiotics without FOS (I don't think they do; in which case I'll just order the Pharmax Mindlinx online.)

Well Isabella woke up at 1am with a croupy cough. I got about an hour of sleep after that. Thankfully, it's *only* croup & her lungs are clear. Oh, and her butt rash is apparently a yeast rash according to the ped. Oy ve.

Geez you guys.... what a day. Carren. Sending positive energy that we all make it through today!

Ok, need some advice. So the dr. said her butt rash was yeast & I could use any antifungal, blah, blah, blah.

So, does anyone have a good natural antifungal before I go out and buy some lotrimin? DH is very insistent that we try something now.

Coconut oil works great, Carren...

Two weeks until my thyroid blood test. I'm betting we will need to increase it. Ah well. At least there's SOMEthing that'll help, right?
Honestly, other than the bone breaking exhaustion, I think the worst part of it is the sugar cravings. When my thyroid is off, I crave sweets SO BAD. Like, I can just go and eat brown sugar out of the bag. Normally that would be to me, just to clarify.
DS2 has been sleeping from 2ish until 6ish am (that's the longest stretch he's ever slept, except once when he was starving bc my thyroid was tanking and I didn't know) which is awesome. Hopefully he'll keep that up once my body can actually appreciate the rest.

Hmm, I guess you'll just have to make them again in plenty of time for valentine's day, eh? I'm sure your DS will want you to...

I think PB recommended calendula succus, it's a bit different than calendula tincture, I guess less alcohol, which seems important for irritated skin. I haven't tried it yet, but it's on the list.

DS1's school just called to inform me of an incident at the bus stop this morning. Apparently DS1 found some money in his pants pocket and some high schooler gave him a hard time over it and ended up picking him up BY THE NECK. DS1 is too scared to come home on the bus today (DH is going to go and pick him up) and *I* am concerned about sending him back to the bus stop tomorrow. The principal has phoned both the high school and the bus barn to inform them.
DH is talking about getting his best friend and SIL's SO to go speak with the kid. I'm not entirely sure that's a good idea but I don't have any idea what TO do. My poor guy.

Okay. I'm here to admit that I have no idea what is going on with Taslyn. I thought we were having salicylate reactions, am still pretty sure of it, and started her on high dose moly and the red ears/hyperactivity went away. Then a few days ago she started getting a hivey itchy ouchey butt rash in the evenings with a bit of red on her arms. Last night it was a full body itchy red that made me bust out the benedryl for the first time. Homeopathics that her body has been asking for include apis, cantharis, urtica urens, plus vitamin C. She had the flu a couple of weeks ago. I'm worried. Plus, my breastmilk supply has tanked, so she's having to eat/drink more and nurse less, really changing all the dynamics at the same time, and my magic pacifier is worn out. Of course our sleep is off with all of this, I'm busier than ever with my egg/milk/cheese business, plus the sun is back... just venting here. We'll figure it out. But if you have any ideas in the meantime... TIA!

Wow JR I'd be furious! Is the school disciplining the punk? I'd be all over that, let me tell you!

Mtn Mama: dd2 gets a body rash down her trunk with body tone in color but itchy, and her rash is red, melty and bumpy too. Lasts for weeks. I've tried lavender, coconut oil, ect Does that sound similar? Sadly, I have no advice...just commiserations.

B vites? Thinking that the flu probably ran down her B's, and if she's not nursing as much, she's not getting as many from you... (b6 for sals and dealing with histamines, in particular). Also possible that she's mobilizing something - metals clear through the same pathway as sals, and DS is more sals sensitive when he's on zeolite. I think B6 is also needed for steps on the melatonin and/or gaba conversions, which can impact sleep.
