February 30-something's TTC#2 or more - Page 3

Question: Got a +OPK yesterday CD14..According to instructions, I could ovulate 12-48 hours. Since I am a POAS maniac, I tested again today CD15 and got another +..Is this normal? Do you all keep testing after you get +? I charted this month, but I don't temp at the same time each day. DS makes sure of that. Thanks!

In my experience it can stay positive for a day or two, but since the point is to catch the beginning of the surge I don't think there is any need to keep testing. All the test does is indicate that your LH is elevated, it doesn't indicate where in the surge you are. My advice is to put that stick down and start BDing!

I think I should O sometime this week.

Hi Mamas!

Can I join too, please?

I am on my 4 cycle since trying to conceive and starting to get a little concerned. I think that I need to start taking my basal temps and charting. I had hoped that someone it would be easier, like it was with our first little one.

to the group cparkly!! Jump right in & don't be afraid to ask any questions!

I have to say that charting really helps. If you're new to charting, I highly recommend reading Toni Weschler's book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Or, there's a free charting e-course through Fertility Friend.

HTH, and good luck!!

Welcome cparkly!!! I used to live in Northern NE and have been back in the DC area for about a year. I miss it, but it seems as if the snow has decided to relocate just for my DH and I. I totally agree with thinking that it would be easier the second time around, but my first go was a long process. We finally got pregnant naturally, but after 22 months of trying, I was tired and then one night we decided to just have fun and there was my little Rohan. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and that is a very short and sweet stay here.

Personally, I do keep taking OPKs until they turn negative, and then usually my temp rises on the first day they go negative. I do tend to get 2 (and sometimes 3) days of positive OPKs, and I test 2x/day b/c I like POAS for OPKs...I'm a lot better about not POAS when they're HPTs, to tell the truth!

Anyhow, I tend to get my first positive OPK 1-2 days before O, and always the day before I O. Once O has passed, they're pretty starkly negative, rather than fading away.

Ladies!!! Thanks to all of you who were interested to know whether I was going to have a surprise anniversary present for DH. Well, I am so so so excited to announce that I am, in fact, pregnant!
I think the first test I took on Thursday was a bum test- it was an "early result" from the dollar store and had been stored in the freezing backroom of our house- it just didn't work right.
But I still hadn't seen AF, so 1st thing Saturday morning, I used 2 new tests from the clinic where my sister works, so I know they were accurate. YAY!!!
I figure conception occurred around Jan. 20th, for a DD around Oct. 12. A little Libra!
And so I had a great present for DH for our anniversary after all.
I wrapped one of the BFP tests up in tissue paper and put it into a little gift box. When I handed it to him, I said, "Now, I hope you like this because we won't be able to exchange it." (I think he thought it was some kind of jewelry.) He was so surprised, excited, and emotional. What a perfect gift for both of us!
Since it's so early, I'm not telling anyone yet except my sister and of course all of you friendly strangers
Here's my sincerest hope for everyone that this will be your month for #2 (or more) too!

Blessed_Bess: Congrats!!!

AFM, my DH has a cold right now & we should be starting up our BDing in a couple days if we're going to TTC this month. I'm wondering if I'll be able to convince him to. He's the type to act like he's DYING if he has a cold. In the meantime, I've been to the fertility clinic & had a number of not-so-pleasant tests done the last couple of weeks, so I'm like "let's keep trying!".

Congratulations Blessed Bess! October is a great month.

AFM - 8ish dpo today. BFN yesterday (duh.). No symptoms, but I didn't have any with DD either. I'm out of tests and with the crazy snowstorms we are supposed to continue to have this week I probably won't have a chance to get more until AF is due next weekend. Sigh....it's going to be a loooooong week.

Congrats Blessed Bess!

I feel you Frisbee only 3 DPO for me and already dying to pee on something!

Hi Ladies!

Welcome to the New Ladies!

Congratulations Blessed Bess!

I am 7/8 dpo, ff just changed my date, solid crosshairs both places... (I might remove the + opk on the 18th, as it was ALMOST positive...

Anyway, I am feeling a little sad and frustrated, as I was supposed to be showing by now... not still trying...

Congrats Blessed Bess! I wish you a very happy and healthy nine months and a very sticky baby!

As for me, I'm just waiting for AF to show up so we can get with the BD'ing. I haven't been keeping track since I started my cycles again, but I do remember most of it and know that I O'ed after CD16 and that was the day DH and I got down just for fun, so who knows? It would be great for me to just get pregnant by surprise for a change, but if not, we weren't trying anyway so it won't matter to me either way.

Thanks for all the congrats, ladies. I still can hardly believe it! I don't really feel that different.. but did feel a little nauseous yesterday afternoon. At first, I was thinking, "ugh, what did I eat?" Then my next thought was, "Oh! I'm nauseous- that's good!!!"
I wish all of you the best of baby luck this month
Like Frisbee said, October sounds like a great month to be born (November too)

Blessed Bess- Wow! Congratulations! woohooo! I had originally hoped we could TTC for an October baby, but I think if I get pg this cycle I'll be due in Nov. I'm not sure. Anyway, I'm so excited for you!

mom2fussy- Sorry to hear your DH has a cold. My DH wasn't feeling well on Monday and I was worried that it was going to mean that he wouldn't want to BD too. Luckily, his cold passed really quickly and we've been able to get down to business. I hope your DH's cold passes quickly or that you're at least able to convince him to suck it up and get busy anyway!

Frisbee- Oooh, hopefully you'll get a BFP in a day or two. How long is your LP usually?

Karylina- I hope your 2WW goes quickly! I'm still waiting to O, but I'm already dreading the 2WW!

cparkly- I'm a big fan of charting. We charted to avoid before we TTC with DS and it worked great. We got pregnant right away with DS. I haven't charted much since he was born, but I am charting again now that we're TTC. I feel so much better knowing when I O and when I should test.

Me- So I'm on CD13, just waiting to O. I have no idea when to expect O because I haven't been charting for quite awhile. The cycle I got pregnant with DS, I O'd on CD13, but prior to that I had always O'd on CD17-19. So I kind of see it as it could happen any time, so we're planning the BDing accordingly.... as in, we're pretty much doing it every day. We're having LOTS of fun! I'm happy to continue with the constant BD, but I'm ready to O! I really want to get pg this cycle! (but who doesn't?!)

I'm out. showed up today. I'm actually kind of glad for this cycle to be over so I can temp correctly from CD 1 and know where I stand. Drinking wine as I type! I forgot how yucky cramps can be when I'm not on the pill.

Interestingly enough, I went off bcp exactly 30 days ago, so it turned out to be a pretty normal cycle length even though I thought I o'd late. Maybe I didn't O late after all, who knows?

I'm psyched to chart for real this next cycle now that I've gotten familiar with FertilityFriend. Need to get a good thermometer though, I have doubts about the one I've been using.
