I've been recently diagnosed with hypo (about 5 months ago) although I've been subclinical for 10 years or more. I used to eat a lot of cabbage and my dr. told me that cabbage and broccoli can inhibit thyroid function. The last time I age cabbage was during Christmas and I immediately felt very sleepy and for weeks afterwards felt my thyroid was "off" and then I tried millet and didn't feel nearly as bad as with the cabbage but apparently millet is off-limits, too? Has anyone heard of this or had any experience with this? I'm already on a very limited diet due to food allergies/intolerances and yeast overgrowth. I'm trying to improve my diet of the foods I can eat while cutting out gluten and I thought to try gluten free grains maybe once a day ... but is this one off limits? I can't eat corn or rice because of my allergies. I'm about to try quinoa and amaranth. Can anyone help with how much, if any, millet I should be eating? I definately don't want to screw up my thyroid anymore because I'm trying to get my TSH level to a certain point and at last check it was still 3.8 (I need it at a 1). I go back to the endo in 3 weeks...
