Anyone else doing the 28-day real food challenge?

I am, but I was a little turned off that the first challenge was to get rid of everything in your cupboard with no additional section of what to put back in it! I know that, in an ideal world, I'd only have perfect items already, but to throw out parts of my week's meal plan and not know what I'm making us all is a bit daunting! I think it might have been nice to send out a shopping list type email over the weekend so people could be ready to follow the challenge - especially for those of us who only have access to farmer's markets and whatnot on Saturdays, kwim?

Thanks for the link - I signed up We'll see what comes - I don't know about throwing everything out of my cupboard - there's already a lot of good stuff in there

I signed up. There are certain items that will be staying in my kitchen more than likely though.

I'm in! I have to admit though...we won't be getting rid of our White Bread Flour (use 50/50 in our homemade bread right now) or our natural sweeteners...other than that I'm interested in how the month goes...I could use a "refresher course" so that I can continue shaping our TF kitchen! It's definitely not an all or nothing prospect in my house...we do as much TF as we can while still being foodies and picky about how some foods are made (we use white all purpose flour in our pie dough, with butter and lard)...

I'm in as this is something we've been flirting with as a family for a while now ...

but, yes, it was a little scary to think of throwing out EVERYTHING and I'll admit that, while a LOT is gone, I didn't toss everything because I didn't want to set us up for failure in the first week when we ran out of food .... I'm more of a "baby steps" kind of person. Especially in the kitchen

But, in the past week I've seen Super Size Me, Food, Inc. and Michael Pollan on Oprah so I feel like the someone is trying to tell me something, ywim?

Let's see what Day Two brings!

Sounds interesting, but I'm doing the 180-day MRE (Meals- ready to eat, officially, meals rejected by everyone actually) challenge instead.

Though, if I was not leaving in a day or so, how long it would take my family to revolt on tf. Too different from our regular diet.

I've gone in head first and am really following the rules and two days in a row I haven't heard "this is yucky" come out of either child's mouth - that right there is worth it LOL

My husband cheated and had sugar in his coffee at work, but as long as he's not buying sugar and bringing it home, I'm okay with that.

Best wishes--stay safe!

I signed up, thought it would be a good way to keep my TF goals in mind and help keep me on track. Also gives me a good excuse to shoot out TF related emails and facebook updates... lol.

I haven't signed up, but I'm following along. I had already challenged myself to quit buying any processed foods, so my pantry has dwindled way down (much to my DH's chagrin!) I'm doing the best I can. My big success yesterday was to make homemade french fries. My kids actually loved them--whew!
