rewarming refridgerated breast milk?

Can I re-warm unused refridgerated breast milk? Sometimes, dh warms up pumped milk that was in the fridge and it doesn't get used. How long can I keep that warmed up milk at room temp? Can I put it back in the fridge and warm it up again? I've checked and most of the sites I've looked up only tells you about frozen milk, does anyone have a site that tells you about refriderated milk?

TIA

I rewarm mine IF my little one lets me, I have a measuring cup I put nice warm tap water in and then put the bottle in that. Glass bottles are much better heat conductors and the milk will heat up faster. Sometimes mine has been out of the fridge for up to 2 hours, but I was never able to find anything on that either. My sister and I had to exclusively pump, she before me, so on some things, like this, I am following her lead, I think she would leave it out longer. I will say at the 3 hr mark, it does smell different. Yes, I will put in back in the fridge, the milk never really gets warm if you just use warm tap water, the bottle of course cools the water down.

I have re-warmed breast milk but try to chill it right away when done, if there is still some leftover. I use the above mentioned method with the glass bottle in a measuring cup, though I have it in the sink with hot water constantly running into it. It heats faster that way and I just make sure to check it. If it gets too hot I run cold water in the cup to cool the bottle.

i keep warmed BM out about 2 1/2 hours, never had an issue

i have put back warmed up milk only if it hasnt been out too long ... like, if its been out more than an hour and a half, i usually throw it out. if i completely lose track of time, i smell it and look it over and just use my best judgement

BM is safe at room temp for "up to" 12 hours. I have no problem popping it back in the fridge and reheating it later - when he's sick like he is now, he's eating far less often and less at a sitting, and sleeping a ton so I don't have much choice but to re-refrigerate or to dump a whole lot.
