Name this rash? Does it sound like chicken pox?

Anyone want to take a guess?

DD is 16 mo. No new foods, detergents, shirts/clothes, or creams. These spots started last Wed on her tummy/front, and nowhere else. They faded after an aveeno oatmeal bath, so I thought they must have been hives from something. Then yesterday, a new smattering appeared on her left and right sides, her back, and this morning a few are on her tushie.

They are little raised pink spots. Her skin feels bumpy. They kinda look like hives. They don't seem to be bothering her at all, no fever. And they are localized, nothing on her limbs at all.

Any guesses? I'm taking her to the ped today or tmw, whenever I can get an appt but I thought I'd put this out there to more experienced mamas. Thanks!

If it was chicken pox, they wouldn't have gone away. No idea what it is though. Good luck.

Don't know. We just had Roseola here, fever, then rash. Did she have a fever first that is gone now? Doesn't sound like hives, especially if they don't appear to be itchy and are not on her limbs. Hives usually start on the joints and spread from there.

Chicken pox will very quickly go from small red bumps to fluid-filled bumps. After a couple of days they crust over. They do generally start on the torso and then spread to the whole body. But, I can't say that's what it sounds like from the description.

Thanks, guys. The dr said it's just a reaction, that maybe she came in contact with something she's sensitive to. Ruled out chicken pox, measles, roseola, etc. Just some kind of dermatitis. I'm going to keep my eye on it and make sure it doesn't get worse.
Thanks again for the replies!

ugh rashes are the worst because they look terrible - is she is daycare at all? My DS had the weirdest rash back in November, looked like hives and literally spread all over his body - without any sign that he was uncomfortable at all - the Doc said it was probably just his body getting rid of some virus - like a little cold - and nothing to worry about. But anyway, all this just to say I'm sorry and hope it goes away! so good that she's not itchy!

Nope - not in daycare. She spends 1 day a week with my MIL at her house, but other than that, we don't even go anywhere besides Target and the food store.
It's got to be something like that, a virus or teething...or something. I have no idea. At least it's just something to wonder about and not worry about!!
