Need a little help here

My 7.5 mo old has caught a bad cold from an older sibling. Since friday he's not been nursing as much as normal (his diapers are very noticably lighter) and I have a bit of a blockage on my right breast. A few things, I didn't pump when he wasn't nursing like he should have been, mainly for 2 reasons, he wanted to be held and I have 3 other small children so my hands were quite tied.

I'm most worried that I have ruined my supply. Do you think my body will adjust as he starts to want to nurse more again? I couldn't really get him to latch on and nurse the past 2 nights and he typically would nurse every 3 or so hours at night.

Also wondering how I can get rid of the blockage I have.

Really need words of help and or encouragement!

Thank you very much.

as far as the blockage goes, take a seriously warm shower/bath and massage the heck out of it!

and for your supply, thats why its called "supply and demand." it adjusts to what your LO needs. sometimes he needs more, sometimes he needs less, and your body will go with that

good luck mama

For the blockage, I just got mine out the other day by using a heating pad on my boob for about 20 min before I pumping (i'm an EPing) and then I massaged it and that was that, all gone! They won't eat as well when they are sick and if your supply was good before theres no need to worry. But there are supplements you can take to boost your supply. They are listed around this website somewhere. Good luck 2 u!
