Questions regarding my BFing my newbie

DS was born 3 days ago and my milk is just coming in. The second he was born he latched on like a champ and got a ton of colostrum from the beginning. my concern is this though-he hasn't really had a wet diaper since coming home from the hospital (24 hrs ago). Is it too soon? I nursed him for ~10 min an hour ago. Thoughts?

Newborns don't always let that much out when they pee. Are you using disposable diapers? If you want, put a piece of toilet paper in the diaper so you can see if he has wet. You probably aren't going to notice otherwise, particularly if you're using disposable diapers. If you're looking for sopping wet, your baby isn't big enough to do that yet. Also, it can take up to 6 days for you to get a lot of wet diapers.

I think it's too early to worry. Just nurse very frequently, and try putting some TP in the diaper up front so you can see the wetness to ease your mind.

Thank you. Coincidentally, he passed a ton of meconium and while I was changing him, peed all over-I'm so relieved! He has a dilated kidney which is why i was so worried.
