I'm trying to do more celebrations. I've never been much for Valentines Day. So, I'm going to sub to this thread. We have the crafts we are going to do all ready for tomorrow. But, I would love some verses!

we've been singing this one

Will you be my Valentine, my Valentine
Will you be my Valentine and where my big red heart?
Yes, I'll be your Valentine, your Valentine, your Valentine,
Yes, I'll be your Valentine and wear your big red heart!
Now we are sweet Valentines, sweet Valentines, sweet Valentines,
Now we are sweet Valentines, we wear our big red hearts!

I wrote this verse for our fingerplay this week:

I shall fold a bit of paper (hands together)
And take my scissors sharp (make cutting scissors with fingers)
I shall cut a pointed C (make a C shape with hand)
Which unfolds to make a heart (make a C shape with other hand to make a heart)
I shall sprinkle it with glitter, (shake like shaking glitter)
A bit of lace or two (put up 2 finger)
I shall add a hug and kiss (hug shoulders and blow a kiss)
And give it then to you (pretend to hand to other person)

Love the homemade fingerplay!

I just posted my last year and this year's circle on my blog and there are lots of rhymes and stuff there. Our favorite isn't necessarily Waldorf, but is tradition. Every year we sing "Mail Myself to You" by Woodie Guthrie. So much fun!

We just started Earthschooling with my 17 mo. He LOVES it! so do I! Here's our Valentines verse:

How Many Valentines?
Valentines, valentines,
How many do you see?
Valentines, valentines:
One for Father, (hold up thumb)
One for Mother, (hold up finger)
One for Grandma (middle finger)
One for Sister, (ring finger)
One for Brother, (little finger)
And here is one for you! (make heart shape with thumbs and pointer fingers)

We will also be making candles using sheets of beeswax stacked up with a wick in the middle, then cut out using heart shaped cookie cutters. Dont know if I explained that very well...
