I just read this article about the German family who fled Germany to homeschool their children. I have heard of them before, but it was interesting to see the follow-up.
I don't know why...maybe because I worry about MY rights to homeschool, but this Time Magazine article calling homeschooling "A subwhat controversial american practice" just soooo got my goat.
This is an article in Time Magazine and they're pulling out the socialization card? SERIOUSLY?
As someone who has worked for the mainstream media, I'm appalled.
When I see articles like these, it worries me that someone who is in power will look at homeschooling and go "Gee, those Germans have it right. Why do we let people homeschool when we have plenty of 'perfectly good' schools?"
ARGH!
