Trying something new morphed to downstairs potty station Post #3

Beauty is 8 months old and almost completely switched to training pants with her. She'll wet on average 2-3 pairs a day (which is sometimes better than my 3 yr old who has been diaper free for over 8 months!). I've been putting each wet pair into the diaper pail, but it occurred to me today that I could just toss it straight into the washing machine and at the end of the day do a mini wash on what is in there, whether its from the baby or the 3yrold. I thought I'd share.

sounds like a plan but would you have a full load at the end of the day? I don't think we would and I might end up using my washer as a "wet bag".

I put it all in the diaper pail and then when I do my laundry I sort it into lights/darks and just put the wet clothes in w/ the laundry. That way I don't have to worry about red pants and pink pants getting washed together. I do laundry about every 4 days.

I'm realizing that...The wet ones from yesterday are still sitting in the washer. Sometimes having a two level house with the bathroom on the top floor is so inconvenient. I know both my husband and I are looking forward to having 1) a 2 bathroom home, and 2) a bathroom on each floor. Evidently bathrooms are going to be a main selling point for us.

I'm trying to figure out how to create a potty station downstairs. The challenge is having the essentials (potty, wipes, place for wet clothing, and dry available clothing) all in one place, that doesn't take away from the play area, is not something the baby is going to get into and won't take up a lot of space.

Ideas?

What about something like this? Add a baby lock and stick a potty and diaper pail on top where the baby can't reach, and hide it in the corner. When a kid has to go, just take the potty down, and you're good to go.

I was thinking a pack n play might work. You could use one where the diaper changer can work w/out the bassinet so the diaper changer is on and the pack n play is in the full play yard position. You could put a basket under the changer w/ all diaper/ clothes changing necessities and have the potty there too. Maybe put a waterproof pad under everything (in case the potty tips). That way you can take the potty out if you want and use it anywhere downstairs or you can put baby in on the potty and they can't take off on you.
