embarrassing question about cervical mucus - sorry if tmi

I am almost 39 weeks pregnant. My midwives have told me that I have a yeast infection my last couple of appointments. This is based on the internal exam. I have NO symptoms of a yi that I can tell. They are basing it on my cervical mucus I think. I've been taking probiotics orally and also vaginally. When I check myself it seems like my cm is thick and white and lotiony (like unfertile cm). Is this normal for late pregnancy or do you think I still have an infection. Maybe the midwives are expecting only clear discharge at this stage and the whiteness is what makes then say it's a yeast infection. Also, could I really have a yi for two weeks with no symptoms? Sorry to ask such a graphic question but I can't find any info on this online. tia

Yes!

I dont know what they are basing it on... but it is quite common for a woman to have a yeast infection and not know it. The same with bacterial vaginosis (which I was JUST diagnosed with today. Had no clue I had it til my doctor took a culture. Am so glad she did!)

there's no such thing as TMI on the pregnancy board. lol.
no advice really but good luck. i hope you can get it resolved before your delivery that might be uncomfortable. what about a clove of garlic? i'm not sure if it's too close to your due date for that but i'm sure somebody on here will know.

hmmm, I'd say check in with your bod

Personally I have thick, white, creamy (sometimes chunky) cervical fluid and I have since about 35 weeks. And there is a lot of it. I've had yeast infections before and the fluid looks really similar but I am positive that I don't have a yeast infection. I don't have any changes in smell, taste, itching, or redness.

But then again, my cervical fluid changed significantly during pregnancy since about week 8. If all of a sudden I had changes then I would be doing a yogurt/garlic treatment for a few days.

So I think what you've described can be normal, each woman's body is different.
