Does anyone know of a good book to help parents discipline children with chronic health problems? I have a number of wonderful books already (off the top of my head, Playful Parenting, Raising our Chidren Raising Ourselves, Easy to Love Difficult to Discipline) but none address special health needs. To put it in a nutshell, our dd is 4.5 years old and most of her behavior problems come from not feeling well. She's getting to the age, however, that even if she's in pain or sick or whatever, she can't hit people, call names, ...generally misbehave. Knowing she's acting out because of her illness leaves me in a tough spot - I have to stop the behavior but not punish the child.
