9yo circ'd son now needs a cystoscope done :(

So my 9yo has undergone 2 procedures to remove the scar tissue from being circ'd as a newborn ~~~ he is continuing to have pain & since the is complaining about a deep pain they want to put him under to check things out internally.

Has anyone gone through this......did they find a reason for the deep pain??? he has been tested multiple times for UTI's ~ all negative. The Dr said it's really a 50/50 chance for finding a cause.....

((hugs)) momma.
BTW, I believe this is the kind of complication that is not included in circumcision complication risks because it didn't occur in infancy. Is this related to meatal stenosis?

If you have the nerve to, there are several circumcision support boards you could try for help with this. On a positive note you might find parents who have gone through this and can help you and also you would be educating other parents that this can happen. On the other hand they are extremely pro-circ and frown on information suggesting anythign but circumcision.

I hope you get some answers. My son had to be put under for an MRI (which I realize is completely different, but it still was a little scary to have him put under etc.) and he did really well with it- much better than we thought. I hope things go better than you anticipate and hopefully it will help him to know that the drs will be trying to help make that pain go away.

He has been treated twice now for meatal stenosis ~ after the first surgery he continued to have issues and had to have a 2nd procedure done to remove more scar tissue. We went back last month because he was still complaining of pain....our Dr said that everything looked good externally & my son's chief complaint was an internal pain. They are beyond what can be done in office

SO right now we are kind of in limbo with what is going on with him.....
