UTI while pregnant

So, I'm fairly sure I have a UTI

I have a pressure/sore feeling in my bladder area and I'm peeing like a mad-woman, which is to say like 4x per hour and it's only a bit. I'm not in pain while I pee, but I just have that feeling

Is there any natural remedy for this [I'm pregnant] or should I take antibiotic and suck it up?

I cured mine with Uva Ursi tea, but of course do research!

Cranberries! You can drink cranberry juice, or buy cranberry extract pills (I've had good luck with Solaray brand Cranactin). It really works, there is clinical evidence that something in the cranberries prevents bacterial adhesion. I would take four cranactin pills a day until the symptoms are gone, and two a day for the rest of your pregnancy.

I treated a UTI with cranberry too (undiluted and unsweetened cranberry juice in combination with cranberry tables). My OB also recommended echinacea for UTI.

First, you can buy test strips 3/$10 at most major drugstores. One common brand is Azo. Then you'll know.

A UTI during pregnancy is more dangerous than a UTI at other times.

Just so you know, things that haven't worked for me: d-mannose, marshmallow, cranberries, uva ursi, every UTI support pill I came across. Drinking lemon water all day alkalizes the urine and makes it harder for bacteria to survive. That is the only thing I've found, and that is a preventative not a cure.

The two most common abx for this, Macrobid & Sulfa drugs have recently been associated with an increase in Birth Defects, although slight.
