Just wondering if you filed, and if so, what's the status of your refund (if you get one).

I filed yesterday online, this morning I got a email saying the IRS rejected my return (doh!), I corrected the error (one # of DD's social), and resubmitted it. Now I wait...

I guess I am just wishfully thinking that if it gets accepted by thurs am (is that the deadline?) then I'll have the money in my account by next Friday.

Good Luck . We're still waiting on one more piece of paper before we can file.

I filed on January 26th, return was accepted on January 27th, and our refund was deposited this morning (February 3rd).

Jenn M, was this federal or state?
We filed on 1/26 and return was accepted on 1/27 as well. State was deposited yesterday (2/2), but Where's My Refund first showed a deposit by date of 2/9, now it's showing 2/16. Same thing happened last year and we received our refund by the earlier date. I know the IRS deposits on Fridays, so I'm expecting this Friday.

Nope, I just did regular old direct deposit! It was listed on the IRS website as estimated for today but I was skeptical because I thought they only did DD on Fridays. But it's there this morning! And actually in the account, it's not pending.

My return was accepted on 1/28, and the IRS says my deposit date is 2/5.

This is the stuff that annoys me. We filed on the 21st, accepted on the 22nd, and Where's My Refund is showing that we should have our deposit by the 16th. Why are people who filed later than us getting their refund sooner???

I remember similar discussions last year.

First, probably because the IRS has multiple offices were differing types of returns are processed and approved. Your return may be processed by the office in OH, someone else's by the office in CA.

That's why filing an EZ versus one of the more complex forms may not necessarily result in a faster return--if there are 100,000 EZs versus 25,000 full returns, you're in line with those 100,000 other EZs and not the 25,000 full returns.

*typically* what happens is whoever you efile thru emails you to say it was accepted, and expect a direct deposit on the friday according to the irs schedule. However, when you check where's my refund on irs.gov, it calculates longest time, ie mailing a check, for when to expect your refund, regardless of your method of return.

For example, I filed 1/23, got my acceptance that night, with a direct deposit date of 2/5. On irs.gov, it tells me BY 2/16, which if I were expecting a paper check, it would be mailed 2/12, and assuming 4 days in transit.

It is all electronic, and has no bearing on numbers, unless your return gets flagged for closer inspection

We filed via H&R Block At Home software on 1/31. The IRS website says our return is scheduled to be deposited on 2/8.

Filed yesterday, rejected last night (wrong DOB for DS on schedule EIC) refiled after correcting around 11pm. Accepted as of this am and return expected by direct deposit by 2/12.

Filed friday and when i go to the irs website it says by the 16th. I hope it will be sooner, possibly this friday, but i can wait two weeks if i have to.

So mine now says (via where's my refund?) to expect it on the 23rd instead of the 16th. ugh! I just read that many tax software programs are leaving line 10 and 11 of the making work pay credit blank, thus slowing down the returns. TaxAct says I should recieve my refund on the 12th, and I'm still hoping that is the case!

Filed January 21 electronically (fed) and received my refund via direct deposit on January 29.

I owe the state something like $2. Our state allows you to file online free on the state's website, so I'll do that later this month.

Potentially obvious question...
