A question about refunds...We are super frustrated because, when filing through H & R Block, it said we can't e-file because of EIN (which I entered for all three employers). So, we had to print and mail which is a huge PITA and it said expect 5-7 weeks for refund. Anyone else? Kind of wanted that money...

I owe a total of $426 because I am filing without my STBX.

My accountant told me that I would get a refund back if I filed with STBX.

However, that would require me to talk to him. And I don't want to talk to him. He is abusive and he is an Asshat

So I depleted my entire savings account and bought myself $426 worth of freedom And it feels great

Then I had my boss arrange to withhold an extra $15 a pay so that the same thing wont happen to me next year

We filed ours at 2am this morning, it was accepted late this morning or early afternoon, and will supposedly be direct deposited by Feb 26th or so. We'll see when it actually happens.

If you can file single or head of household next year, instead of married filing separately, you will be much better off!

I have to file still, but we are getting more of a refund than I expected, especially from the state. I adjusted by withholding so that won't happen again. Federal I'm leaving alone. We're having a baby this year, so my much lower withholding (changed last summer) is probably now accurate. That is what the withholding calculator says anyway.

I did them myself this year because we didn't have anything complicated. Filing by mail too. I'm not in a rush for the refund. It's just going into savings.

I filed on the 3rd, Federal was accepted on the 4th, and deposited this past Friday on the 12th.
State wasn't accepted until the 9th, not certain when I will get that back.

All in all my tax return it was under $1K from both federal and state.
