WTH is wrong with me? No sex in 6 months, now breastmilk?!?!?

Somebody tell me what the heck this is. I have never breastfed, only tried relactating, but this was 2.5 YEARS AGO. I'm due for my period, so crampy etc.. I got a sharp pain in my left nipple and had an urge to squeeze * I had this before of course at the end of my pregnancy, than after I had dd..and when relactating*

anyway: I squeezed and 2 big drops of colostrum came out..than after I squeezed, the sharp pain went away. I squeezed the other nipple a few times out of curiouity..and got a drop out.

WTF?? Is my body just weird, I don't understand this at all.

Has anyone around you had a baby lately?

I hadn't nursed or been able to express anything for over 2 years but when my sis had twins, I started getting colostrum. I figured it was nature's way of ensuring that my body would be ready to help feed my neices if she didn't have enough for them. It went away after a few weeks when it was clear that my milk wasn't needed.

I've been having baby FEVER lately myself..but no, nobody I know has a baby.. You bring me to a possible thought. My dd is sick, upper resp infection plus conjuctivitis in both eyes. I wonder if my body is making milk for her? that would be AWESOME!!!!!! She has medical issues, and breastmilk would help A LOT. Hmmm.. I won't get my hopes up on this thought..but how cool would that be

I just went through a time when my 3 yr old was sick and I ended up pumping milk for him even though he's been weaned for 6 months. I'd love if he were able to nurse still but we've got teeth issues.

Anyway, to Kailey's mom, would you pump and store any milk you make to give to your daughter? Would you encourage her to latch on?

Very cool stories. At a minimum, you should drop or wipe some milk into your DD's eyes.

I know this is really far fetched......but is it possible that you might be pregnant?? We start producing colostrum in the 2nd trimester and it is not uncommon for women to leal colostrum in pregnancy, even that early on. Probably a crazy thought, but I have heard of womwn getting pretty far along in pregnancy before they realize that they're pregnant.

If I were, I would be at least 4-6 months along.. I forgot when my dh and I last had sex, and I've been having normal periods. This is what confuses me. I put up a post to see if any other woman, besides the rare cases I have read about, had monthly bleeding during pregnancy.

I would absolutily give her my breastmilk, after of course going on a strict elimination diet for a couple weeks because she has severe allergies, and many of them

Not to be a downer but you may consider being screened for a pituitary tumor - 99% beinign but it can cause breastmilk production!

No, your not being a downer, just an educater I'm pretty sure I'm safe in that aspect though, but I will do some research. I had my last bilateral breast ultrasound in October 09' so I think I'm safe.

oh..duh.. pituitary tumor LOL. I had my last CAT scan in November 09' so I'm hoping that would have picked it up. I'll research though =D
