Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel?

Did anyone take their kids to see it? A local theatre is playing it this weekend really cheap so I was considering taking my 9 year old son but I am worried that it may be inappropriate. My DH is worried about too much sexuality and also too much agression, as my son is sensitive and prone to nightmares. Any opinions appreciated!

My husband took our 9 year old DD to see it, and this is what he's saying:

On the sexuality, it's really just vague innuendo-- like the Chipmunks getting googly-eyed at the Chipettes.

He wasn't 100% sure how to respond about the nightmares for your son, because one part of the movie has Theodore having a nightmare about the school mascot (a hawk?) and that could be a little iffy for your son.

His take on it: The Squeakquel is no worse as far as "too grown up" for children than Up was. He has a whole different rant on that one!

My 4 and 7 year olds really liked it, but they aren't sensitive.

I don't remember anything sexual about it at all, and it wasn't violent . . . it's the chipmunk movie. They sing and squeak and everyone is happy in the end.

Its really a nice movie to take your kids to see. My Dd watch it and she loved it. If your kid is sensitive I wouldn't advise you to let him see the movie, being that he is prone to nightmares. Maybe when he gets a little older he can watch it on cable.
