hi.

my husband just told me last night that you will soon be able to go to netflix and preview movies from the "watch instantly" option via your wii on th TV. anyway, i thought that was so cool! as homeschoolers, we use netflix A LOT! it looks like it is free too. my husband ordered the disc the night before last and it will come in the mail by spring time he said. i know you can get a device that does this already, but the one we have doesn't work very well. i'm hoping this new option will be a breeze. anyway - i wanted to share. here's the link: http://www.netflix.com/NRDInfo/Wii

hth.

the watch on TV thing has been around for quite a while. do you mean that using the Wii is new? if so, thats just one for reason for me to get one...i've been thinking about it for some time.

i'm sorry. i'm terrible at explaining stuff i mean you will be able to watch movies on your TV via your wii for free. does that make sense? currently, you have to watch them on your computer or buy a device to adapt them to your TV, ykwim? hope that makes sense!

that's awesome. we don't own one (although my husband would love it!). i guess i'm the only one excited... i'm a little behind in technology though, so i thought this was new cutting edge stuff,. i'm so excited to watch movies on my TV from my que. i really hate using the computer as a TV, and the adaptor we own doesn't work well (and i can't navigate it anyway). this will be a great option for the kids and i! i guess i was the last to know.

And the Xbox 360.

Elizawill- don't worry, you're not the only one excited! DH and I are excited, as well. Especially seeing as how I'll be on maternity leave in a couple months, it'll give me more options.

We've known that the xbox and ps3 have had this for a while, but it hasn't helped us any, as all we have is a Wii!

I'm so glad I signed up too. My eldest has hacked his Wii to be a full DVD player and internet browser. He currently downloads films from Netflix, then transfers them to DVD and plays them on the Wii sometimes. It will be so much easier when it can just stream over the WiFi.

We do have just one small TV and one computer so the kids appreciate any additional options!

Thanks,

Lucie

We have a Blu-Ray disc player which plays Netflix. I love it!

We have DSL in the mountains, so it isn't as super fast if we lived in a big city, so we have to wait a few minutes before our movies will start. The quality isn't as good as a DVD or Blu-ray of course. But we still love this service.

(We also have a Wii, PSP3, and Xbox, but right now just use our LG Blu-ray/DVD player.)

thanks. we usually connect out laptop via HDMI to our TV.... Wii will be much easier I'm sure!

Thanks for posting this. Earlier today I saw an ad about doing it with the PS3 but we dont have one so I can't wait for the wii disk to come out. Currently we have our tv set up as a second monitor to the computer so that we can watch movies on the tv. Its good but it tends to slow down my computer and if I try to do anything on the computer, it knocks the movie out of full screen mode.

We have a blue ray DVD player that connects to Netflix. It's great and there is a lot of educational stuff out there - we use it daily!

Awesome!! I've been waiting and waiting for Netflix to come to the wii. Thanks for posting this!

Actually, we only had to buy an HDMI cable. We hook that up to the TV & computer & watch netflix.

The cable wasn't cheap, and it requires an HD TV --- but we didn't have to buy other equipment,

I wish I could watch streaming Netflix, but I live in Mexico, so my IP is blocked (even though I have an active acount - we pick up our mail across the border). It would be really awesome if I could use the wii for this.

my only point was if you have a wii, it's free. that's good for me & my budget.

How do you hook it up that way?
We don't have a wii or a blu ray dvd player yet, but I was wondering how everyone else is doing it - sounds like you can buy this HDMI cable, but how would you select a movie to watch in this manner? I'd love to figure this out without having to hook up a laptop to the tv.
