Kombucha question

Hi, i am new to kombucha brewing... but since it has gotten colder my scoby only makes a partial ring looking baby. Any ideas? it is bad? should i keep separating or leave it together?

My last one didn't have a very thick baby either, even with leaving it alone for an extra week. I just left them together for the next batch.

It just isn't fully formed yet & is ok. If you are interested in starting up a 2nd batch you can seperate it & it will continue to form a full circle. I did this a couple weeks ago because I was anxious to get a 2nd gallon brewing because we are drinking it faster than it is fermenting! It is now a full circle. But if you have no plans for the baby I'd just leave them together. HTH
