Where did you get your hose and adapter for birth pool?

Thread Starter
I've seen the thread on water tubs and all the needed accessories. I purchased my tub, but now I need to purchase a water-drinking quality hose, adapter, and pump to empty the pool. Since we are paying for the birth out of pocket, we are really hoping to find these things in the least expensive way possible. Any ideas? Someone suggested a garden store and someone else suggested a pet store? I'd love your input!

This is the pump we used http://www.yourwaterbirth.com/water-...ump-p-867.html

Adapter came from Lowes

We just used the garden hose because the hose we wanted cost more than the pool!

I got mine all over the place and maybe not the cheapest but I will share:

I got the hose and faucet adapter from
http://www.yourwaterbirth.com/adapte...rs-c-2_27.html (where I also got the La bassine tub)

and the drain I learned about from this great thread

http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=589333
the python drain thing- which I just ordered today!

The link to here has them out of stock but then I googled it and ordered it from another pet store.
We are going to hook it all up soon and I notice our hardware store has faucet adapters if ours doesn't fit as we are using a bathroom sink.

we got the hose and pool from birthwithlove midwifery supply. i found out later though, they sell the hoses at ace hardware - i was worried about finding a hose in december! the faucet adapter came from another local small hardware place so they should be easy to find. as for pumping the water out, we used a yucky old pond pump my parents loaned us - that i found was the most potentially expensive part.

I got the adapter at Petco and an RV hose at Walmart. It was the cheapest way for me. The adapter was about $8 and the hose was $9.

Found almost all of it on amazon. Great prices on drinking quality hose, the python drain thing, etc. I think the adaptors we'll just grab at the hardware store..
