Does the amount ever amaze you?

Sometimes when DS pees in the BBLP, and then I'm dumping it out afterwards, I notice the huge quantity and wonder where he was keeping it all, lol.

YES! With the big poos, I always think how incredibly happy I am that went into a potty and not a diaper, it would probably take me 10 minutes to clean his butt! LOL! And the pees--I pee about 5 times between 2 of his pees. He has a freaking amazing bladder. And he can sit on the potty without peeing and then hold it another hour or so. If I so much as walk past the bathroom, I have to stop to pee!

Definitely!!! I think holding it for long periods of time is a hallmark of EC. I measured one of the bigger pees, and it was a full 1/2 cup!!

As for big poops, when my dd was on her poop strike, she did me the favor of only pooping part of it in her diaper, then doing the other part (in her diaper) later in the day! But the ones that go in the potty are of surprising size! She pooped the other day when my mom was here, and my mom was quite surprised!

Very true! I've actually found that DD prefers to pee on the potty and will pee much more there than in a diaper because of it. For example, before we started EC she'd wake up with a dirty diaper and have another wet diaper (or two) almost immediately afterwards (even if it took a few minutes before we could change her after waking). However, once we started EC she NEVER has that second diaper right away and usually can go quite a while before needing to pee again. I think she didn't like the wet sensation of her diaper and would then hold it until she got another clean diaper . Before EC I'd get annoyed because I had JUST changed her diaper. I'm so glad we're doing EC now!!!!

my little girl still does multiple pees in the AM but SHEESH they are sometimes quite a lot. She holds a lot over night I guess.

And the poos- yeah, when there is a big one in there I always think... thank goodness I didn't have to scrape that off her! I do think maybe the position helps her more effectively empty her bowels though? Get it all out at once?

That's awesome! I know my dd waited for a clean diaper, too! We started (not full time) during her first week of life, but it took me awhile to figure that out! I used mostly disposables at first, with two cloth diapers that I used whenever they were clean. She always waited for the cloth dipe for poops! At less than one month of age!

i used to be very casual catchin g a pee or so a day when we were already in the bathroom. my DH wasnt on board although he thought it was cool, he felt it was too much work and that EC was for "other" people. my DS got into it after constantly seeing me and DH use the potty and now he almost always refuses a new diaper being put on before he's peed! he will do anything to escape a diaper. he would love to be diaper free and i hope to liberate him!

my son does this now, so when he WON'T pee on the potty, he will hold it until A) he's found a good spot to piddle on the floor, if i'm not carefully watching or B) he will wait for a clean dipe on and unleash the fury of his elastic bladder there! lol!
