Weighted blanket

Thread Starter
How heavy for a two year old (two last month - she weighs about 35 lbs) I have no idea what size or weight to get for her. I realize the best option is to try a bunch out, but considering the cost, I'd like to nail it on the first try.

Thanks so much!!

I think the rule of thumb is 10% of your child's weight +1lb. So for 35lb, 4.5lbs.

i think the weight suggestions come from ot, but i'm not sure. personally, i actually did 20% of her weight - dd is 3 and about 36 lbs. her blanket is 8 lbs, and it's been great. i read other people's opinions on what actually felt good and effective, and it was always much more than the 10%.

Hi!
The formula I used was 10% body weight pus 1 lb. I made my DD a weighted blanket using these guidelines- it came out great and I am not really a very good sewer (very little experience).

I have to say, having the weighted blanket has been life-changing for my DD. She is SO much calmer and better organized now. It has made a HUGE difference!
