Mom's Diet and EC

Thread Starter
I'm learning about EC with my third EC'd child (4th child, 1st boy). Does anyone have any stories about how they've observed that their own diet impacts EC? Sugar? Gluten? Dairy? Raw? Timing of eating? Ingrid Bauer pointed out to me about higher sugar foods and diuretic foods (grapes, watermelon, apples, other high sugar fruits and high carb foods) being related to more frequent pees and I noticed this to be true with my last 2 children. However, this child is now 7 years later and a boy, so in some ways it feels like starting over again from square one.
On the one hand I'd like to be on a 100% raw diet, or a large portion raw and wheat free, however, the practicalities of this seem too daunting at the moment, yet I would like to make some steps towards a cleaner, healthier, more mineral rich diet and one that promoted regular bm's with ds (now just over 1 week). I'm noticing he has just a tiny bit of bm when I try to take him potty over the sink for a couple days, and feels better after a large bm tonight.
Any thoughts on diet and EC?

Thanks,

Melissa

A helpful pod cast

After listening to this I realized that my daughter goes more when I have dairy.

I am not a member of this group myself, though I always meant to join! But a lot of moms on the big EC yahoo group list mention this group very frequently:

It is commonly suggested to EC families who are interested in the role diet may play in regards to EC. Though the group is not only for people who practice EC to be sure, there seems to be many EC practicioners who are members there.

When my daughter was little, she had diarrhea every time I ate dairy. It freaked me out, but my pediatrician couldn't understand what the big deal was--she kept saying that you can't really tell if it's diarrhea with an exclusively breastfed infant. I didn't have the guts to tell her I knew it was diarrhea because DD was going in her diaper instead of the toilet (she rarely had poop misses from a very young age). But she stopped having poop misses when I went off dairy.

DH and I both have low-level allergies to dairy, so I should have figured it out a lot earlier! Now (at age two) DD can eat dairy just fine, but I haven't really given her straight-up cow's milk. She loves yogurt and cheese, though.
